  • Stick/Pole Martial Arts

    Hi,

i am looking for info on styles of martial arts with heavy focus on the use of sticks/poles (long blunt ones about 1.5m to 2m)
    involves spinning.

    like donatello from ninja turltes.

are there any phillipino styles that involve this in training ?

any links or information on this style would be greatful.
looking for possible trainers in china or korea if the style is based from these countries.

Hey, just saw the post. There's the long pole of Korean MA called the "bong" It's a complementary art and is good to combine with other MAs. Some Kali systems from Philippines offer the use of long poles too, though most are knives. Sorry, I have no links to offer.

      Arnis use two sticks.

Japanes weapons are taught in some schools - the jo is the name of the shorter stick. (The long stick is called a bo.)

Gimik, I just saw you are in Australia. Where are you? I might be able to recommend a school.
