uh, i dont think enrolling a 3 year old in muay thai is a good idea, nor do i think anyone will teach a 3 year old muay thai, as a child that young wouldnt even be able comperehend what muay thai is.

u should like get some sesamee street tapes(Stay away from the burt n ernie ones were they are in the tub together and whatnot, that whole thing was suspicious) and some animal crackers for your 3 year old instead.

How old does one have to be to start Muay Thai.

Well Ive heard of People starting at 4 years of age.
Yes you can very gently help the child stretch but I would suppose it may be a good idea to consult a Doctor.
I think a Child may start to learn Strikes at 5 years of age.
But at that age the Child could not receive any contact. I suppose light contact by the time the Child is 7.
Muay Thai is an excellent Martial Arts provided the Child is only trained to strike until he is 7 years of age. At 7 very light contact until the age of 13. After 13 I think the Child could to increase contact both receiving & striking.
By 15 maybe his first full contact bout with a Child his own age.
Can you imagine his potential as a fighter by the time he was in his 20s?
But safety would have to be an important issue starting so young.

My former trainer started at 3 in Thailand....
Of course any Muay Thai training at that age will be a very watered down, but you can never start too young!
My oldest daughter is 2 1/2 and will be starting soon! I can't wait

when i was 3, i was watching ghost buster, seseme street and ninja turtles, i didnt even know what muay thai was, let alone wanna practice in it.

plus, should u be picking what to push your kid into or should u wait and let him decide what he is interested in doing ? i dont really know, but its something to think about. all those little girls who are forced into ballet and shit like that end up with eating disorders, or on websights called bangbros and blacks on blondes when they get older

It's all in good fun of course, but never underestimate the benefits of a child that age learning that it's fun to exercise and train in for something....
It makes no difference to me if it's Muay Thai were doing or not. I love Muay Thai so that's what I'm going to show her first, but if it turns out that she wants to do something like basket weaving then we're going to have fun and train our butts off for it!
In all seriousness I want her exposed to as many things as possible, and Muay Thai is something most little girls aren’t ever exposed to.
