Roy Jones Jr., naturally, over Tarver. Jones is fast and has a lot of ring savvy. The problem here is that his last fight was with John Ruiz?? A good fighter, but not a great one. Now Tarver? Same deal. Interestingly enough, Jones had to pass through James Toney's weight class on his way back down to light-heavy. Jones/Toney is the fight everyone wants to see, or how about Jones/Klitchko??? Let's see how the "belt-collector" does against another world class fighter in the higher weight class. Don't get me wrong, I like Roy, but I want to see him fight an opponent that makes him work for it, because it would be a great fight to watch.
Yeah, Klitchko is world class...underrated, but a real threat. I was mostly reffering to a Jones/Toney match-up. Of course after Saturday night's performance it is almost mandatory that Tarver get a re-match. Great fight...close.
No doubt about it, Roy is the man to beat from 175 lbs. on up, but I wonder how he would do against a top ranked natural heavyweight. I guy like Klitchko or Toney would give him a tough time. So would an in shape Tyson for that matter. I think Jones is too small for guys like Lewis or Rahman.
From what I read, it was a lackluster performace on the part of RJJ considering he had to cut weight from 205 to 176? Loosing that much weight can affect you.
Did you see the fight?
Again from what I read, he was able to score alot to the body but the call was close.
