  • How bout this?

    Fellas,

I'm training up for a fight (not boxing but a hardcore tournament none the less) basicly my training strategy is to get my body used to exerting itself by doing really hard training every day leading up to the tournament.
Then, for the last two or three days - don't train.
The idea being that my body will get used to going full force everyday then suddenly when it's not releasing all it's energy (for the last couple of days without training) all the energy will become pent-up... so I can release it all in the tourney.

    Make sense?

It's just that i've heard all these stories of boxers doing such things with their training regimen before a fight. Plus all the theories of not having sex before a fight etc

By the way, I'm fueling my body properly and i'm already getting to the point where my body HAS to train everyday.

You guys got any comments or suggestions please?

    Thank you!

    Keeper

yeah depriving yourself of sex will definately turn any man into a blood spilling, gut stomping, testosterone induced lunatic. unless ofcourse if your used to being lonely like some of us here i'm sure then it really doesn't make a difference lol.

no, sex is a good workout.

You should continue to train to the day of the fight. However, as you get closer to the fight the intensity should change from heavy to light. Mental exercises, breathing, body conditioning, rope and shadow boxing can be done with no risk of injury.

Don't build your momentum and just stop training. That's not a good idea in my book.
