  • Why Elbow Joint Hurts when throwing jab?

For some reason when i throw a fast jab, the act of like locking out my arm while throwing seems to hurt a little and make a weird noise. also my arms shake while throwing a hard jab or cross it seems like.

I've thrown multiple jabs/crosses in front of instructor, so maybe he hasnt noticed any of it??????

    Any ideas/ suggestions?

Sounds like you've injured your elbow through over extension all together or repetitve motion. Your arm shakes because there is an injury to the area so it is weak in that aspect. Your description sounds like tendonitis. Best suggestion would be to take it easy. If you do keep working with it, keep it wrapped with a support (i.e.: Ace bandage, etc) during your work-outs. Good luck.

well it only happens when shadowboxing, not when using heavy bag, or mits so i guess whenever i dont have a target. So idk but that's shitty i would have never have thought that id have tendinitis, i was hoping it was that i was throwing them wrong.

Good news then, After your last post I can tell you, you are throwing them wrong.

You should not be fully extending your elbow when shadowboxing, or any other time for that matter. You are hyperextending your elbow which is causing your problems.

keep you elbow, slightly bend. and start exercises to build mucles in your arms.
