  • Quick Qs

    1) Why do boxers drop the lead hand, or sometimes the back hand in a fight? I see them letting the jab hand hang low and then snapping out. I doubt that it is any fast from the hip than from in front of the face, where it protects the body better. Is this tactic a draw thechique?

    2) When do boxers exhale during the strike? I don't know if it is right before it connects, right as the arm starts to extend, or what.

    3) What is the best method of increasing hand speed? I'd like to be able to throw jabs out fast, and to be able to whip a jap into a hook really fast, but I'm not extreemly good at that as of now. Is the best method just to hit a heavy bag a million times trying to get faster and faster?

    thanks boxers

    Hey dude
if u r stil figuring out how to flick out the fastest jabs possible, consider this..

have ur elbows loose, quickly snap out the arm, but make sure with the proper body pivot and a reaching motion. have ur elbow curved, (dont fully extend ur arms while punching) and quickly pull it back to position after each punch.

im just figuring this stuff out too myself, tellme if u find that practical or not.

peace and train hard. Melbourne R.G.
