  • BOB and Wavemaster Punching Bags

I am contemplating getting one of these two freestanding bags due to space limitations at my house. Has anyone had experience with either of these products? Are they reliable? Are they useful? And is BOB's lifelike shape worth the extra money?

Incidentally, I would be using it solely for punches--I am not sure if this has any bearing on the reliability of the bag or its stability, but I thought I'd mention it.

    Thanks.

Well I have a wavemaster free standing bag and I filled it up with water. it's durable and comfortable to hit but it moves really easily. I dont even kick that hard cause I've just started martial arts about 6 months ago but still, when I side kick it hard it falls over or moves around alot. after I practice for about 10 minutes it'll be in a corner of my basement so I have to move it back. Its not as annoying as it sounds though cause you can just roll it back. maybe it moves cause it has water and not sand. I dont know. but if I could I'd get the BOB for the extra money instead.

        Agreed,
I also have a wavemaster and it does move easily. I works best when I use it for techniques and repetitive punching/kicking combinations, the kind you do until you can't lift your leg anymore.
We have a bob at the studio and he moves around just as easy, but he's much better for techniques.

Neither are a good choice "just for punches" stick with the heavybag.
