  • which sport has more contact

Does football have more contact of getting hurt than boxing does? Please respond to this if so because I need ways of convincing my dad to box, since he barley let me play football last year. Please give me some reasons. Thanks.

football is more dangerous than boxing inmop. there is a reason why you have to wear a thick helmet, and body armour when you play. football players tackle eachother all day long, its very physical and injuries are pretty common. one of my friends broke his ankle during football when he was tackled and he had to have all kinds of pins and rods put through his bones.

boxing is relatively safe compared to football inmop. and all boxers wear headgear and mouthpieces to keep them safe when they train, only the professionals fight without them.

Tell your dad more people die in car racing, more people are injured in football, and there is more roughhousing in pro hockey.

Professional boxing is a whole different world from the amatuers.

Buy the film "the safety of amateur boxing" at ringside, and make your dad watch it. Tons of fun filled facts there.

As far as pro boxing goes...Im not sure.

I think football does by a long shot. Especially if you play on the offensive or defensive line. They get hit every single play.

Although you could make the point that pro boxing has more potential for injuries due to blows to the head. At least they wear helmets in football!

I'd acually have to see some stats to really compare, but I'd still say that a pro football player, again especially a lineman (running backs too), will probably have more wear and tear on their body at the end of their career than a pro boxer would.
