Some boxers are endowed with the ability to hurt with either hands and are just natural heavy hitters(no matter their weight class). What can you do to stay in the fight against someone like that without running away(knowing that each jab is a possible knockout blow).

Slipping can be used by anyone, but in truth its always been the tool that the smaller or weaker guy used to be able to stand a chance. I have a cousin who was a promising welterweight who was so good at slipping that he was able to defeat super-middleweights.
Its all about inches. Just a little step to the side can make a man miss, but still leave you in position for a vicious counter punch that can leave you opponent on his ass.
Whether it be boxing or martial arts, the best way to block a punch is to simply not be there. No matter how powerful a puncher a guy is, he can't hurt what he can't hit. This doesn't mean that you run the entire fight, although there is nothing wrong with getting on your moving when you feel as though your opponent is trying to cut the ring off and has you cornered.
Ask your coach about slipping and start working the drills. Hold off on the counter punching for now and focus on the slipping.
Old Saying: What's the best way to block a speeding train?
Get out the way.

Learn to slip and counter...my advice is not so good, and I'm not a very well polished boxer, but I'd say the same thing about any fight...open them up with something and keep the pressure on them until they drop. Time one good shot to hurt them, and follow up until they can't move. Quick, determined and to the point, like a prositute.
