  • Boxing with an injury

Hi, I'm 20 years old, 5'3" to 5'4", around 140 lbs. I broke my left collar bone cleanly playing rugby in February. As of May 7th, my orthopaedic doctor said that it was healing very nicely and that i could start lifting lightly come June 17th and that it should be fully healed by august. I've already started lifting lightly and teaching myself basic boxing punches and some footwork without any pain from my collar bone. I want to join a boxing gym to get hands on training before i head back to college but I'm afraid that its too soon or that even after my collar bone is fully healed it might be too dangerous to box. Should I wait awhile or is it too late for me to get into boxing? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Hey man, talk to your doctor.

I wouldn't do any contact sparring in your shoes. Good luck
