  • shooting pain in the head

Anyone here get shooting pains in the head which last for a couple of seconds and then go away.....they happen maybe once a week even though I have not boxed for 3 months.

I get slight thumping headaches for as long as a week or two after hard fighting and training where I've had to cover and roll with punches and kicks or have been hit in the head.

But I would not describe it as shooting pains. Take it easy on your head. Take a break from sparring and work on something else for a while, like foot work or reflex drills.

If your experiencing shooting pains in your head, and if it has been happening for some time now, I would suggest you have it checked out by a head doctor. And I don't mean a psychologist/psychiatrist/shrink, I mean a doctor that specilizes on the brain/head. I think they are called neurologists, but I could be wrong. Anyway, have it checked out. You could have damaged your brain in a way that you can't tell.
