They won't fight because of a 3% margin dispute on the purse. Hatton wanted a fairer split of 48% to him and 52% to Pac, but Pac wouldn't drop to less than 55%.

Its a $24m purse, like 3% either way really matters. They would still earn more in under an hour than I will in my entire life.

Its not about the money, Its about the respect. Hatton only lost to the best fighter in the world. Pac can't say the same.

One win over DLH who most believe was over the hill doesn't mean that his purse should be bigger than Hatton's. Hatton knows this.

Pac's biggest win was over DLH.

Hatton's biggest win was over Kostya Tszyu.

And they are both still young lions. If this fight doesn't get made it will look like Pac ducked Hatton because Hatton is the logical choice at 140 if Pacman is truly looking to cement a legacy. In fact, if Pac beats Hatton, then and only then should there be a talk of a Mayweather fight. Money aside, Hatton is the next best fight for Manny if he intends on staying at jr welterweight.

It should be noted though that Manny has been outboxed by much smaller and less skilled men like Marquez and Morales. I don't know where Roach gets the idea that he'll do better against Mayweather than DLH or Hatton did.
