    Extremely right!!!!!!

i ask my instructor this before, and he answer me that too..... he also added that the name Shaolin is only a religion and its meaning is not martial arts..... it is a gimmick that tastes better to the ears..... and karate is a karate, no matter what style of karate is - they are all karate..... a pause by pause (a movement that has a beginning and has an end)

unlike in KungFu - its movements is - no beginning and no ending.....

You still reckon tha this Black Tiger wotsit is the best thing since sliced bread?
For me, It is the best thing going. It might not work as well for you or someothers ,but it fits me just right. Everyone has to find what fits them. There is no end all be all martial art ,but there are those that fit "YOU" better than others.

                Shaolin Kempo Karate

I am a student of Shaolin Kempo Karate. If your really want to know what it is, here is the site with the answers http://www.villari.com/fvhistory.htm . It was created by Fred Villari, and the USSD school is one of many spinoffs. If you want to find more information try http://www.stanford.edu/group/kenpo/kenpo-faq.html. As for all the dispariging comments and snickers, I'll use Bruce Lee's comments as a reply "All styles have value". I don't need to put down other styles to appreciate mine. If you do, maybe your style is not giving you what you need. In any case, I don't believe there is a right or wrong style, just what is right for you.

Shaolin Kempo, is actually a mix of Shaolin and Japenese arts. I personally can say the branch of Shaolin Kempo that i come from is actually a bunch of different arts combined, such as Syringi, TKD, BJJ, Shrynryu(sp), and Muy Thai. In the school that I learn at, its basically all the most applicable techniques for out on the street. We favor both the quickness of Kung Fu and the hard regidness of Karate. Were a more modern art, with this i mean it strays away from traditional (for show) aspects of the techniques. To demostrat the variety of martial arts in my school i'm going to give examples. Our blocks are open handed(kung fu) for speed, we have an array of wristlocks, groundfighting, shortkicks and aswell as long kicks(short is defined as close in, the syringi and the long is shyrnryu(sp)). We as well use our elbows and knees(muy thai) and our ground fighting is ofcourse BJJ. That and a bunch of others, but I dont want to explain them all but I jsut wanted to get the point of view straight on the name, it isnt a gimic for business because where I live the school is only about 20-25 on a good day and the cost is very low.. 80$ for 2 months. I do know from the branch that i am supporting with this post has about 11 different martial arts. You could say its kinda like Ishinnryu with alot of different branchs, but i would not be suprised if their is somebody out there that uses it as a gimic. This is the wrong thread for this but, any applicable combat(non point sparring)martial art that is used correctly can be effective out on the street, but i also agree when it may not for as much effective against another MA.

BTW.. .hello, i'll be hangin out with you all
