The concept of free speech and what it means. When the dozens of Chinese don't get insulted by this but you do, we can all agree who has the personal problem. Just don't let your fucked-up attitude interfere with me or my life, need I resprt tp alittle mayhem upon your return...

Boy, you just keep digging the hole deeper and deeper. You can say racist shit, or you can not. Whichever you choose, you need to stand behind your words. That's how it works.

      • Hi Thai,

Sorry you can't make Jesse's seminar, but I understand about having a new puppy. Concerning Nino and his statement, I was surprised to hear that he said that he hadn't been in any fights because I know of a few he'd been in (maybe he said that to the magazine for a specific reason). I also know that he was in a few gon sau's that were arranged and attended by WSL himself, before WSL stopped his guys 'officially' partaking in them altogether. For those interested in some nice and effective VT, might I suggest looking up Michael Louison in South London? He is my Sihing from the Basement, who went off to HK to train directly under Ng Chun Hong, a police detective, who was one of WSL's main guys, and who had himself previously trained under Lok Yiu and Jiu Wan. Michael is Ng Chun Hong's official UK rep.

I'll stand behind my words, but not your ignorant interpretation of them. Racism includes the belief that genetic or inherited differences produce the inherent superiority or inferiority of one race over another, and seeks to oppress another group of people based upon those misconceptions. A racist comment would be something like: "All Chinese people are deceptive, you can't trust them" But my words, in context, were to characterize the Chinese as a culture of people who are secretive with the fundamental objective of not allowing their artform to be exposed to the lay-public. In other words they are discriminating of who is allowed to be privy to the "secrets" of their MA. This characteristic had survival value during the reign of Manchurians who were very oppressive to the native Chinese at the time. Chinese developed a very clever way to conceal the secrets of their MA due to these needs. They are sneaky in that regard, according to William Cheung and others I know who are familiar with their culture.

This isn't a new concept, the need to be sneaky. It isn't derogatory, and it isn't rocket science to understand, but your narrow-mind just won't permit it.

Somewhere, someone must have exercised some prejudice or bigotry toward you, because your mind doesn't seem to permit any other interpretation here. That's costly, because you limit yourself and are demonstrating the perspectives of an incomplete thinker.

If the only tool you have to problem solve and rationalize is a hammer (crying bigotry at everything you perceive), everything becomes a nail.

          Open your mind.

You are either too much of a coward to stand behind your words (the meaning of which is very clear, your dissembling not withstanding) or you are a complete moron. Which is it?

It's futile to argue with a fool. What does it matter if you can't demonstrate a capacity to understand? If you have any intelligence you would have got it by now; being stupid, you won't listen to reason.

                • Greg - this interview was long ago, and he was referring to a self defence type fight (not a pre arranged martial arts contest). I'm sure he's a good guy. I liked the things he seemed to be doing at the time.

                  Jubaji - a fat li't Labrador. Awwwwwww...............

kcigam - you seem a decent sort. I am still pretty skeptical about WC. I want to see evidence of PRACTICE, not theory. Is that reasonable?

Can I suggest you read On Single Combat. Why would Geoff Thompson give it a foreward and speak in glowing terms of the book, kernspect and the system he teaches if it was not a practicle system. He also writes in Blitz defence another Wing Tsun book.

Or are you now suggesting Geoff Thompson knows nothing about the reality of fighting ?

                        • Geoff Thompson is Geoff Thompson. If he likes a book then he likes a book. But if you want to know what his views on real fighting are, then read what he says about that.

He doesn't mention Wing Chun, and I agree with him!

                          • Keith Kernspecht is a very good businessman; plus, he has copied Thompson's "fence" as a method for dealing with street attackers. Kernspecht is very skillful and a fairly cultivated man, it's not strange that a great martial artist like Thompson would write introductions for his books. However, I practiced "Blitz-defence", and I find that GT's "fence" is easier to use, cos he's not obsessed with WT centre-line and the in-famous "all your weight on the rear leg, please" concept.
