Because there is no need for 'other' arts. All fighting truths in this universe are contained in the holy WC if you only look..................

Lemme see, could it be the sweeping generalisations, oversimplifications and assumptions made?

Be open-minded and learn from the other arts.
Isn't that true for everybody, and not just the hostile/seemingly closed WC crowd?
You do know there are WC groups out there collaborating with the Gracies yeah?

        Here's a little snippet for you;

JOINT SEMINAR WITH MASTERS GARLSON GRACIE & SAMUEL KWOK

How did the Carlson Gracie Team get exposed to Wing Chun. "I (Jeff Neal 6-0 No Hold Barred
competition) was looking to get the edge on the competition. I was Boxing and doing some
Mauy Thai when a training partner said I should check out Philip Nearing (Wing Chun
Instructor under Samuel Kwok in Chicago) and that he has kept the tradition of Wing Chun as a
fighting art like when it was used in the organized bare knuckle fights in Hong Kong. So I took
his advice and went. I was very impressed, Phil is an incredible instructor. He can work with
anyone and any style of Martial Art and they will always come away with something of value. I
was in his normal class when he pulled me aside and said "I know what your hear for and if you
want to take it to the next level come back Thursday night at 9.30, we lock the doors and do
some bare knuckle sparring." So I went and the rest is history. Phil told me Sifu Samuel Kwok
was coming from England to do a seminar and I asked him if I could bring Carlson. He said "no
problem." So we went and Sam gave a demonstration to start off the seminar, that was quit
impressive. He put on some Vale Tudo gloves and showed how Wing Chun is meant to be
used in actual fighting and not just Chi Sau or pre arranged attacks. Carlson got up and told the
group they were very lucky to have a Martial Arts Master like Samuel Kwok".

        Jeff Neal.

After this meeting these two master became good friends. Not long after talks started

This is a must-have for any Wing Chun practitioner. It opens with Carlson Gracie saying he has seen many martial arts over the years, but Master Kwok's Wing Chun is really, really great. So much so that he wants to incorporate it into his teachings for the UFC and other NHB/MMA tournaments.

All of the GJJ/Muay Thai people I have been training with are great people. Helpful, ego-less, and open-minded. I've learned much since I've started training with them.
I don't know but I do notice that trend - its like all the point sparers think they're badass fighters and have to prove it while they're point sparring but compared to the full contact fighters - they just don't give a damn. This is what I noticed being in the "traditional" system for a number of years.

Thought you'd have something more to say on this Thai Bri?

              You agree with a post by a newb;

I've found the only way you can make Wing Chun work is once you've gathered some techniques, is to fight against a fully resisting opponent with medium/hard contact who doesn't practice Wing Chun.
              Why?
Is it because it supports the stance you take in initiating the thread?

              gathered some techniques
              LMAO.

Then when someone posts evidence to the contrary, you avoid addressing issues raised?

I'm far from a WC person, but I don't like to see people who should know better, dissing things they have too little experience of.

I fully take on board, the idea that a 'year of whatever art' should offer something, but you chose whom you sought instruction in WC from, and you are solely to blame for the lack of result.

It'd be the same in any art/style wouldn't it?
If I took the first Judo/JJJ/Gjj school I came across and committed to it for a year, just because of the name of the style/system, I'd be a moron wouldn't I?

I wonder if many people viewing are aware that, just as with Karate, there are many styles/systems of Wing Chun?

Wing Chun is judged largely on Yip Mans version, whereas more than a few offer no Chi Sau, different forms, no forms and things the west wouldn't recognise as WC/VT/Wt or whatever.

How then, to judge one mans experience, of one year, in one lineage of one mans poorly presented art?

              Done it for me.
              I'm done with Wing Chun.

              • Durrrrr.

So, if you are a beginner at an art you are supposed to know who the good instructors are from the bad ones?

                Durrrrr.

Still not a full on winner of the Donkey of the Week Award. Close, but no carrot.

                  You probably won't.
                  It's tough shit.

Can we take it that Sam Kwok meets with your approval?
                  Or the others I've mentioned

                  Wai Po Tang

                  Samuel Kwok

                  Kevin Chan

Assuming you do, would it be fair to say there may be others also worth training with?
These are all UK people though.
You could go train with them?

                  • Well don't talk as if it was my fault, you Donkey brain.

My training was in the Sam Kwok lineage. Out of the two local instructors one of them left WC behind. Not a good advert for WC, is it?

I could go and train with them, if I wanted to waste even more years of my life. Why the fook would I want to do that?

Sorry my friend. I like to act in more sensible ways. You appear to be a thick bastard.
