God Yes! What was his name now? It seems to hard to remember, yet it is on the tip of my tongue.
He finally came clean after I pointed out the error of his way.....
He not only mentioned them, he hailed them as great! ONly when pushed did he admit that he'd barely seen them......
Poor poor guy. The lengths people will go to to avoid hard training in their quest for fighting prowess.
You listening Tameo?

Ramus! Yes! Well done! I wonder how that guys doing?
Tameo. The real battle for self protection is strategic, tactical and emotional. Without getting those right you will lose, like Cheungy did.
As for techniques? I draw from Senshido ( www.senshido.com ), WW2 Combatives, Thai Boxing and Grappling. A little Shukokai Karate double hip has found its way in there too. I work the Fence and pre emptive strike as explored by Geoff Thompson
( www.geoffthomson.com ) also.
You're way behind if you think that merely going to a martial arts class will train you to ptotect yourself. The game is way bigger than that.
At the moment you're learning how to drive a car on an open runway. Sure, some of those skills are uself. But without the tactical element you will never be able to drive on a busy road.

I know that techniques are useless if you dont know how to use the whole body. I did do all these fancy techniques and I got pushed through the center and fell off balance. I know agression is an important factor in fighting and the abuility to take a hit and recover right away throwing your own attackes as soon as possible is also very important in a real situation.

Your missing the point.
At the risk of sounding a little crass. go and watch the Bourne Identity and the Bourne Supremacy. See how he approaches self protection........ BUT ignore the fight scenes. I'm not talking about how you fight, I'm talking about how you protect yourself. That'll give you a flavour.
Fighting isn't always self protection. In fact it is usually the opposite! But self protection may involve fighting.
Strategy and tactics dear boy, strategy and tactics.

So do you guys mind sharing that approach to self protection, as well as your own thoughts on it?
Or will you just refer me to movies and books, meaning I will certainly misinterpret the whole thing and start doing wing chun padda cake for self defense...
