As my previous post said, I started training at 17 & yes I`m asian residing now in Canada for the last 10 years. As of now I`m training on my own & teaching my two kids & I am planning to participate maybe next year in local tournaments here & hopefully introduce Ngo Cho Kun to Canada.

            hello konghan

Well that is very cool. I thnk that is neat I mean teaching your own kids. I hope I meet a guy like that. I have always been intersted in asian guys but here in america there are really none. But I am proud of you that you show and teach other people that really good. I wish I knew stuff like all I know is to write poems and dream that one day my poems will be published. But knowing kungfu is way better then writing poems even if it seems the same because with poems you express your feeling but with kung fu you do the same you could you use kung fu in many ways. bye now

              Hello guy incognito

I was wondering why did your father only let you learn that. Did he think it was dangerous. But I know how that feels because when I told my father that i wanted to learn kung fu he did not let me he said that was for guys only and that belonged in the ktichen. But I am not gonna lie i know somethings abut kung fu but she the simple things. Not big stuff. But intill this day my father gets mad when I talk about martail arts or I see movies of Bruce Lee or jet li he says that s why I never got married because I like boys stuff. Even though that s not true I just consider my self mormal. I am not like those girls that like to be in front of a mirror 24 hours a day. I like to get down and dirty sometimes. Don you think Its only for boys I would really like to know what you think.

No i think my father made me do TKD because he though it was right for my body structure at the time(I had very little upper body strength but strong legs).I think it was a good choice to start out with.I was not allowed to do karate and my dad got really irate when i said i wanted to do muay thai(Dont know why that is).Martial arts are for everbody.Everyone may have a need some time to defend themselves not just guys.

Do worry how dirty I get you will never know. But you are sometimes right yes I will do my husbands needs but not all the time we girls need to know other things don't you think, but that is when I do get married because right now I am not married so I do not need to worry about it.

Are you kidding me? there are tons of Asian guys in America. Poems are bueatiful & poets are great lovers that are endowed with artistic powers they tend to understand the inner feelings of humans & nature. Maybe you can share with us some of your poems.

This is getting surreal. Can somebody wake me up?

Chris! Yes, I'd love to know the "why". I'm starting another thread on it, if you'd be so kind as to convince me.

                        Then I may be CONVINCED!!!!!

                          Good day to ya!

People that have never learned kung fu will never understand forms!!!

For some reason people believe that a form teaches you how to fight.

                          WRONG!!

Forms are a means to remember a wide varity of techniques. There were no video cams back in ancient china ,so in order to remember techniques.

                          They created forms!

You DO NOT fight with forms. Forms are there to show you the techniques. You have to drill the techniques away from the form ,and fit the technique into your own personal fighting flavor. The problem is that too many ppl outside of kung fu and inside kung fu ,do not ever get a true understanding of forms. Techniques in forms have many uses ,that's why you have to break the form down into drills and applications.

Forms were used to give the student or person techniques that they could work on even when away from their teacher. The main problem with most CMA ppl is that they try to fight with a form. You don't fir your flavor to the technique. You fit the technique to your flavor. That's why forms have to be disected and applied to find what works best for "YOU". That's why there are so many techniques in forms. Because not everyone can use the same techniques. So forms give you many techniques to interchange.
