    know fighting and no fighting

I have used similar variations that I was taught on the technique darrianation is talking about. So as far as I can see jubaji has most likley never faught a kungfool or kung fu practitioner or another person or his imaginary friend or argued with his mom or been spanked by his dad...I guess what I'm trying to say is if you have never been in a fight not a game of grab a** you can't understand how this works. So sorry.

Dude I think you need to check your eyes if I'm what you think is a miss then it's no wonder you still live in your mom's basement. Go back to eating cheese puffs and playing quake, Anime boy.

I made this thread ages ago. I'm surprised it somehow managed to swim its way back to the surface.

oppinion, CMA guys would be allot better if they sparred more and trained VS other styles. its such a shame that CMA is never seen in pride/ufc, i mean not at all!

Okay - there are so many good great CMA fighters the problem is everyone wants to see them be in a tournament to show off their skills. The fact remains that many of the really good CMA guys don't compete. Not out of fear of the competition but because they don't feel the need to prove themselves in a sporting event.

I know the next post is going to be - "people who can't fight say they don't need to prove themselves". So let me clarify, real KF has its very effective and practical applications that could never be used in a sport fighting tournament. CMA fighting in a tournament requires a great deal of modification. The trapping and locking techinques used in a lot of CMA are not allowed - I entered a "point" tournament when I was young and was warned so many times because I had trained to fight for real. When the opponent attacked I locked him up and tossed him around.

CMA is extremely effective but there are many out there that are BS guys who go into these tournaments and get the crap kicked out of them and make CMA look like a joke. What people seem to forget is that just about all the arts you study today are rooted in CMA - altered, modified in some cases maybe even improved. REAL CMA are no joke - you take Choi Lay Fut - that is a brutal and intense fighting system. Their fighters are serious. Do they compete a lot - not really. As for the ground fighting I read early on in this thread of a Wing Chun guy who said if grappled to the ground his skills weren't really that good. That's not Wing Chun's fault. I studied Wing Chun as well and I was quite effective in ground fighting. I have never gone up against a Gracie student but remember every style has its strengths and weaknesses. The fact that you see some poor practitioners of a system don't judge the entire system on it. That's just foolish.

That would be me saying that because I've sparred with Akido, TKD, Karate, JiuJitsu guys and won that all of their systems suck. That's not the case at all. I just may not have been up against opponents with good understanding of their techniques.

Bottom line - don't generalize CMA fighters because of lack of publicity or the few poor examples you have seen. There are great fighters out there that just don't care what everyone else thinks.

There are fighters in san da and shuai jiao who can fight for real and fight really well.

                      Who cares what others think?

There is actually going to be a San Da tournament comming up on December 10th in New Jersey. I'm on a target now if I meet my goals by registration then I will actually be fighting in this one. My first tournament in OH...11 years.

But I'm psyched if I can get back down to fighting weight then I'm in.

Right now I would be in super Heavyweight which I don't want to fight in. Because I'm big but not that big and I know that the guys that are going to be competing in that catagory will be massive and knock my block off. I'm realistic about things!!!

So, I've got 10 pounds to drop by the middle of next month and I'll register for the Heavyweight division.
