Well I can slap hard too, and you should have seen the look on his ever reddening face when the lowly student slapped him about. Great fun.

Alex, you have no idea how good or bad I was / am. You're just a sad bastard who holds Kung Fu up as something to propr up a weak ego, and you perceive any criticism of it as an attack on yourself.

    Good day!
At least I study a style of CMA that is battlefield AND ring proven. You went to a McKwoon, that's right:

    "You do fake commericalized kungfu"

    You had it coming.

according to my KungFu Instructor..... if WingChun KungFu and ChiDianBun KungFu is in the Short Distance Fighting Category......

this XingYiQuan is more on Short-UltraShort Distance Fighting Category

and this XingYiQuan has a similarity on some of its movements when compared to ChiDianBun...... on what? Well, if XingYiQuan does Five Elements while ChiDianBun does Seven Elements......

while PaKua KungFu does Circular Hand Movements while ChiDianBun does Circle and Diagonal Hand Movements......

while WingChun does Sticking Hands while ChiDianBun does Walking Hands (not running hands).......

GoChoKun (NgoChoKun) has a similarity also with our ChiDianBun on some of its movements like the Half Yin and Half Yang punches......

and 50% of the movements of ChiDianBun is merged/influenced with Hik Style Tai Chi Chuan........

Chinese Sanda (Sanshou) people have been destroyed by Thai fighters in the 1970s and 1980s when they fought in these inter-style competitions.
So they started to learn Muay Thai, to learn to defend against it. In the last years, the Chinese won some important fights against the Thai boxers. Sanda incoporates Thai low kicks (and the relative training methodology).
Just like the best Muay Thai fighters from Russia and Brazil understood that they had to learn BJJ to win UFCs...
The above examples are, in my view, positive ones: fighters get battered and they evolve, learning new styles, instead of talking about unbeatable secrets or invincible "masters"...
              Any thoughts from Sherwinc?

Probably it is proven to work in secret backyard/roof fights in 1950s China. What about testing it in 2004 Rio de Janeiro?

P.S. : by the way... an Englishman called Fairbairn who worked in Shanghai in the 1930s and 40s, and fought against all sort of criminal there, developed his Close-Combat system which consists in a few simple, brutal attacking techniques. But it doesn't look like any traditional art.

                      Just once I say

Kung Fu is not fake. It basically refers to all martial Arts from China. There are many styles of kung fu, some which are rubbish, some which are good. Styles like the duck style are stupid and as for using it in a real street fight, the enemy would probably laugh to death.
But as for real kung fu the REAL shaolin monks practiced their kung fu every day hours on end with little rest. They were famous for defending villages against japanese pirates. Even in the ancient times japan had heard of shaolin, that some japanese people seeked to learn shaolin kung fu. The shaolin warriors were the strongest warriors of the time, they helped fight wars. These are all facts. As for muay thai, it is a very effective fighting style, straight to the point. No fancy shit. But to say kung fu is fake is such plain stupid and arrogant. San shou is the modern form of kung, also straight to the point, it derives from kung fu and does not copy muay thai, ever heard of iron leg, iron head, iron palm etc, these are all chinese martial arts of the shaolin temple. These techniques are advanced conditioning skills, ways of hardening the bone like iron hence the name. Anyway I can't be hassled to explain. Kung fu is not fake and a real kung fu master can bust up any muay thai fighter. Even a real mantis master can bust up a muay thai fighter. A mantis master who has trained his fingers/hands to iron so he can use the style effectively can rip his head off. On the other hand is there still people like that??? Why would they train so hard??? It takes PROPER dedication, in this day and age, it's money oriented not survival.

Oh no they are all gangin up on you, Thai Bri! It's like an awkward version of the 'therapetic meetings'(referred to as pecking parties by Mcmurphy) in Ken Kessey's "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Where everyone just starts hounding one guy to the ground >.<

So what exactly is Ippon Kumite?

Referring back to the original post... look at it this way, the good thing about your kung fu, is that it ain't TKD.

But seriously, your complaint may be analogous to the following:

I studied driving for years, and then I got into an accident when the road was icy because my driving instructor never taught me how to drive in icy conditions. I shouldn't have wasted all that time learning to drive if I can't even control the car on ice. My driving instructor and his methods suck a$$.

Knowing stuff can't hurt you, it's not knowing that can. So instead of dismissing what you know, learn what you don't.

That s correct, we can do nothing about it. l had the chance to go to Beijing and witness real masters teaching gung fu at 5 am in a park. There were no ceremonies, it was just a normal thing. One of them asked us if we would like to train too, for free. We did and we came back for the next few days. Everyone was kind, not only to us foreigners. The relation between the teacher and his students was not formal, it was a father-son kind of relation.
When we were back home we saw MA much more clearly: it's just business. MA in western countries are like this: "You pay me and you will know the deadliest secrets of my style. But first you have to pay me, and I will show you my techniques one at a time. For a very long time of course, these invincible techniques require a very long practice." Add all the magazines, all the advertisements, all the fairytales and gung fu is no longer what it should be. Of course it loses credibility and quality!

someone - your post is so full of childish, dreamy bullshit I don't know where to start. Just show us where a top Kung Fu guy has beaten a top Thai fighter......

Bjjexpertise - I love that book. Its my all time favourite. Ippon Kumite is where the two "opponents" square off. Onbe plays attacker (and I use the word "play" on purpose, because this is just a stupid game) and the other "defends".

Both know what attack is coming and, just for extra safety, the attacker is so far away that he has to step right in in order to get in range. So this highly telegraphed, already decided, attack comes in, and the other guy blocks and counters. And this is suppsed to be effective training........

shasan - I disagree with your anaolgy. Mainstream martial arts are like trying to learn to drive whilst sittig in an armchair, with a plate for a streering wheel and tins of beans on the floor for pedals. You'll get kiled in a real car without the need for any ice.

Tee Sok - that does sound nice, and they seem like great people. But was the training realistic?

Sorry Thai Bri, my two stupid students that i teach kungfu is now unbeatable ever since......

with regards to my 2nd student that i teach kungfu, he is now unstoppable, since he in the poor family - street fighting is his past time...... he now fight with enemy who has experience in boxing and karate and arnis...... news has wings.......

with regards to my 1st student that i teach kungfu ( and he is also my teacher in Defender's Karate Clan in Mindanao, Philippines) he beat as many martial arts black belter here in Maasin, Iloilo.... Sta. Barbara, Iloilo as well as Conception, Iloilo Philippines.

                                Question:
Can i ask you Thai Bri...... when you fight, for how many times did your enemy hit you?????? If your enemy hit you more than 3, then what kind of a stupid martial arts teacher teach you that kind of human dummy martial art???

you know, my two students never hitted by their opponent...... since their opponent is black belter in karate, boxing and arnis, and kickboxing......

since there are no real Muay Thai Boxers here..... i think the Muay Thai Boxers here in our place is all fake..... maybe you can find only real Muay Thai Fighters in Manila.......

                                now, answer my question........
