I believe wing chun is effective on street combat, which is one of the reason why I took it up, and those clips looks alright with me, but if your thinking about buying those tapes to practace at home, don't, because it's better if you go to the classes then to rely on tapes

When I was younger and knew a little of street combat and MMA, I always got impressed by this kind of fast, cool trapping/punching techniques that Grados show.
Now just play the "technique of the month" clip, and watch the "opponent": what does he do once Sifu Grados starts his counter-techinques? He just stays. No aliveness, no resistance. Nothing.
Real fights have nothing to do with that.

How many times has a sifu or black belt been beaten up on the street by a 14 year old thug ?. U know why because all this stuff is in the dojo and not the street.

This guy would be screwed if a street thug pulled a knife on him.

How come wing chun doesnt focus on defense against weapons ?
