Different martial arts in different regions of China?
Different martial arts in different regions of China?
This may be an ignorant question, but is there a specific region that is "better" to go to to learn specific Chinese martial arts? Like say the best province to learn wing chun, or the different types of kung fu?

Thanks!
What I know is that in the northern regions of China styles tend to emphatise footwork and kicking techniques (known in modern wushu as Long Chuan), while in the south styles have strong hand techniques (know in modern wushu as Nan chuan).
The best place in China to learn WC is HK.
Where are you from? There are teachers around the U.S that teach chin na. Jeff Bolt here in houston, His teacher Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming in Boston, and Sifu Leung Shum in New York from the Ying Jow Pai school. Sifu Shum teaches eagle claw which uses a lot of joint manipulation and locks. As far as San Shou....Cung Le out in California or Jason Yee in Boston. Or you can look up some of the Shaolin Monks they also teach San Shou (San Da is what it's actually called) Well hope this info helps if you have any more questions just ask! Good luck on with your search!
most of the good chinese kung fu masters are not in China due to the maoist revolution. The best masters(if alive) should be in hong kong since the migrant masters have to fight out territories in which they can teach in.
