Words are only powerful when the call yourself or others to action, demoralize your enemy thus reducing their ability to fight, or by communicating various data related to fighting. By themselves and with nothing to back them up words are worthless as weapons.

oh trust me, you basicly covered all the uses of words in a fight. dont sit there and make fun of him, because that only pisses him off more, and KF or no KF, you fight a pissed off person you are likely to get hurt.

no, words are used to make people look stupid. it is especailly usefull if they have thier woman there, or a bunch of friends who arent to sure of thier buddy/have no problem with you. ive used words to make people switch to my side in a potential fight by making these guys relize they are backing a loser. of course, dont try this if the guys buddies hate you, or even if you dont know them.

also, yes, calling others to action is another way of doing it. go the way of paul revere. before he was captured be the british. i mentioned this kid in my school who messes with me, and if he ever tried to fight me, i could probabloy get 50 people behind me. no exageration. he could maybe get 2. it also really helps to have someone else use words for you.

for example, this kid and i were kinda messing with each other, and i jokingly suggested we fight. so later, after school, im walking by and he says "yo, you gotta fight me man." immediately he had 6 guys around him saying "he will kill you."

that kinda thing tends to discourage people from fighting.

however, i will agree with httkar when i say the girl's words are more deadly than your own. a guy will stand up and fight you to get your girl, but when they are sure the girl hates thier guts, they tend to be discouraged. they relize that the only way theyre gonna get the girl is if they rape her, and you dont do that in a bar. as twisted as our society is, nobody will stand around and let a guy abduct a girl right there in a bar.
