    There is some ancient training that you can apply nowadays but with modern equivalents. Get yourself a cinder block and a bench, and put the block on a bench and stand in front of it. Then you hit your head on the forehead, sides, the top, and back of the head 50 times each to start, 100 times after three months, and 200 times after a year. Don't go soft here, you want your conditioning to be the best.

    As for your jaw, stand in a strong sideways stance with your elbows locked into your sides and your arms out at a 45 angle from our body, fists, abs, and butt tightly clenched like you're forcing out a big turd. Then have a buddy with a baseball bat or club of some type (wood to start but after a year you can use aluminum) rap you in the jaw with the bat 20 times on each side to start, 50 after three months, and 100 times after a year. You'll be the toughest dude on the block if you do those, but only if you make sure your friend is hitting with decent power.

    For the top of the head, I recommend getting a friend who is interested in training with you. Both of you stand a good distance from each other and bend down until the top of your heads touch, then follow a count and collide skulls repeatedly. Perform 50 times each to start, 100 times after three months, and 200 times after a year. Once you can do it for an hour straight, you'll be in good shape.

        Get the The Bible of the Bubishi. It explains all that stuff in detail. Old exercises that the emporer's guard used to employ. Especially the 9 Badawa Gin exercises (spelling?)

            I think this guy's serious and a serious MORON at that.Sure it works for the short term, but look at the long term effects- arthiritis, parkinsons, amnesia, disabilities, memory loss etc. Basically you are what you train, a brick wall! Why dont you train NOT to get HIT, thats alot easier and alot more effective. Face a gun/ knife weilder and all that training will be useless, train to avoid and your more likely to survive. To ther person who invented this whole technique I present this to you..........

Beating your head off a concrete block, getting smashed in the jaw with a baseball bat, and bumping heads with a buddy at least 100 times a day?                 Oraenor can you refrain from using those kind of pictures?
                they are less insulting to the poster but hugely insulting to people who have a familymember that is mentaly handicaped

                  Alright I'll try to. I just over reacted when I keep seeing these iron body posts coming up and its pretty obvious that it's a "mentally challanged" person would do such things to themselves.

                        I come back from my workout, and what do I see here?! Let me repeat it again -- DO NOT EVER make fun of anyone with a disability, especially one who is mentally handicapped. These people have committed absolutely no fault, so you have absolutely no reason to make fun of them. That is dishonorable, cowardly, and it may come back to haunt you one of these days.

                        But, to answer the original question:

                        Get a short leather belt and tie it to weights on both ends, both light and equal in weight. Place the middle of the belt in your mouth, grip with your molars (back teeth) and nod your head slowly up and down. Do this thirty times, rest one minute, then do two more sets of thirty. Increase as you go along to your pace. This exercise builds the neck and jaw muscles to ensure that you go from a glass jaw to a stronger jaw. Avoid using a rope as this will cause unwanted irritation.

                              yeah, a riot shield and a gun would really come in handy in these situations.

                              I like sanjiyan99's suggestion for strengthening the jaws. To strengthen the kneck I do kneck rolls. Lay down face down, with your head underneath your body. Stretch to the left, right, forward and back, Do each one for at least 30 seconds, putting your body weight on your kneck. Another suggestion for strengthening the jaws is to spar more often. If you get used to taking and sliding punches, the effect will be much less.
