I fear not the man who practises 1,000 techniques 10 times. I fear the man who practises 10 techniques 1,000 times"
thats it i believe
its actually:
I fear the man who practices 1 technique a million times than a man who practices a million techniques once.
Note to Sherwinc- you will need to practice your 200 alphabets 200million times than a boxer who needs to train their technique 10million times.
What about the man who practices 500,000 techinques 250,000 times and then 7.5 more techniques 647.893 times? Plus some cardio work on the side. Oh, and he plays tennis once in a while when his brother Carl is in town but that doesn't happen so often since Carl took that new job and moved to the west side of town. I mean its only the west side of town, its not like its 100 miles away or something. Why can't he come visit more often? Is it something I said? And.... oh, never mind.

misinterpretation.......
i only practice 55 ChiDianBun Alphabets......
but when engaged in sparring......
my Hands perform wonders of its own..... i do have trust on my hands, not on my Head and not on my eyes.......
and even me, i dont even believe for what i did, i never think of it, but i let my hands do rapid infinite techniques of its own......
"Independent motion between Two Hands and Feet, not by the dictates of Head and Eyes" you can perform unlimited techniques...... why?????
cause a good fighter knows a lot of tricks, but doesn't play games........
OK?????????
Note:
There are 26 English Alphabets that you know...... but you already now know Billions of English Words.........
Question:
Did you ever practice Billions of English Words before you know how to talk?????????
me??????
i only study 26 English Alphabets, and when i now learn these 26 Alphabets, i can truely speak and write Three Billion English Words without thingking...... and using also 26 English Alphabets... i can still talk and write Millions of Filipino Words.......
Got It??????????
Note:
It doesn't need to learn those millions of words in order to speak and write expertly....... the very important thing is to master those 26 English Alphabets and you will truely know what i mean............. the same also with those KungFu Alphabets that you are learning now......
yah i got out of martial arts for a while since i cant find a good school around here. after that incident i thought all kungfu is fake and useless shit so i went around sampling kenpo, karate, and some other stuff but i didn't like any of those styles. im trying to find an MT gym. parking is horrible around fairtex and i don't want to take public transportation. world team usa is great and parking around there is good but they charge alot.
thanks for coming in here and moaning about your parking problem,we are all the better off for it
Nemesis
i always wanted to learn martial art for self defense and health but i never did any research into what to take. i went into wing chun not knowing what to expect and so here was this teacher that taught it for a low monthly price, and i thought cool i'll take that for a bit. in the first two months i was thinking he was ripping us off because all we did was the first form, syu lem tao. it got boring and the only contact we made with each other was chi sao and some cool slapping moves. so prior to leaving the kwoon altogether i was given the impression that wing chun was nothing more than a martial art strictly based on slapping. i wanted to continue in case later on the sifu would show us something cool, something effective. but that came crashing down on me and the rest of us who felt the same way two months after i joined the school, when that MT guy from Thailand showed up. i really don't care how many "alphabets" the other styles have cuz the MT guy with how ever many he had spelled PAIN, HURT, KICKURASS for my former sifu. oh and i didnt mention this earlier cuz i didnt want it to be the focus of the thread but the reason why the MT guy really put the hurt to WC man was because WC man made snide remarks about Thai women being whores in his conversation with the MT guy. THAT's what got the MT guy so into spelling HURT and PAIN for my old sifu, and that's another reason why i left. what added insult to injury was that the MT guy did a little dance before he got up and launched combos into the sifu. it looked like he was worshipping something, then stretching his limbs. the final blow was an elbow to sifu's nose followed by a wicked round kick to sifu's head which sifu tried to block but the MT guy just broke through it anyway. and when he left he told ALL OF US that our kung fu sucked.
Wow...did the rammuay before a challenge match...what a NICE guy. How respectful and dedicated to his art. Big ups for the Muay Thai guy.
If only more people who talked shit would agree to settle it with an all out fight...the world would be a sunnier place, or at least a great deal more respectful.
I'm not gonna diss wing chun, it has it's place (in the trapping range).
But anyone who teaches an art should also have a certain level of respect for other arts and their practitioners...and certainly doesn't refer to any woman, and especially any whole fucking race of people, as whores.
He got what he deserved...
I walked into a MC dojo once...a local chapter of United Studios of Self Defense, and worked out with them for two days...they had no technique, they had no knowledge of the martial arts, I was at a peak point in my muay thai training for a fight and had been practicing kali all week, so their so called "black belts" and head instructor were all RIPE for the picking. It's something I've always wanted to do...but I didn't...I just kicked the pads the way I always do, and I showed all of them up, I threw their instructor across the room when he held the bag for a kick...but because they at least showed me courtesay and respect...I gave them respect for their attitudes and class...because these days that is also so much more important...now I pity the poor bastards if they EVER got into any fight with ANYONE (a 95 lb girl on a bad day with no training, or my grandma) but they still have one very part of the arts down which is more than I can say about even some LEGITAMITE fighters and blackbelts/schools, even if they don't know the difference in genealogy of gung fu or Karate-do (didn't even know the most basic one's from China, one's from Japan...well...very simplified).
If what you say is true, then I am in agreement with everyone here who says that your former sifu got what he deserved. There is no point to curse someone else's art, or make unkind comments about women, or stereotype another ethnic group for purposes of laughter.
I do, also, give two thumbs up for the Thai boxer regarding his dedication to tradition in performing the Ram Muay prior to teaching the errant "master" a thing or two about fighting, and allowing him to taste the power of Muay Thai strikes. Since you have said in other posts that you wish to join the ranks of the thai-boxers, check out http://www.fightandfitness.com/index.html. Their first class is free, and will be an assessment both for you and the instructor, as the instructor will gauge which way your training ought to go about, and you can see for yourself if Muay Thai is a style you like. DO NOT judge a style's effectiveness because this guy in that style beat another guy practicing another style. Power, conditioning, and rigorous training plus alot of heart is what separates great fighters from individuals like your former sifu. Oh, and yes -- RESPECT!!!
Cant stand thai music. I once went to a muay thai gym and the music they had was some thai music that sounded like a cat yelling. Its wierd shit. The Muay thai dance is wierd as fuk also.
