Whenever people say 'We mustn't be sentimental,' you can take it they are about to do something cruel. And if they add 'We must be realistic,' they mean they are going to make money out of it. Brigid Brophy
Can someone tell me what the difference is between Wing Chung Kung Fu and other style's?
Thank you very much!
That is a pretty big field but I can tell you this - in comparrison to other forms of Kung Fu.
WC is a southern style of kung fu. Like many southern styles it focusses more on hand techniques than on kicking. Footwork is essential though so don't think that consideration should not be paid to the lower body.
WC is based on a few key principles: Attacks should follow along the most direct possible path to reach the target; center line control; triangular defensive formations, etc. Other forms of Kung Fu may share some or all of these principles but together the martial principles of WC define what it is.
WC has a reputation for effectiveness in combat. (Of course most martial arts claim effectiveness in combat however WC is more proven than most. Aside from stories of the founders of the styles there is very little proof of the combat effectiveness of some other styles, but not all; there is good proof of the combat effectiveness of Hung Gar, Choy Li Fut, Shaolin KF (not the legends of the monks and that war; just the system, please remember that Shaolin KF was the basis for Hung Gar, Choy Li Fut and Wing Chun) and many other forms of Kung Fu so WC is not the ONLY effective style.
Though most people believe that the majority of WC techniques are derived from the Shaolin 5 animal styles (particularly Snake and Crane) it is stripped of most of the semi-shamanistic elements of animal style kung fu and instead boils down the animal movements to general, essentially scientific, principles that apply directly to the human body. A simmilar process occurs in other forms of Kung Fu, such as Hung Gar but it is very extensive in WC.
WC prefers defensive redirection and simultaneous attack and defense. Some forms of Kung Fu also use defensive redirection while others use hard defense. Most forms of kung fu reccomend simultaneous attack and defense; WC is just particularly partial to it and most moves have simultaneously both a defensive and offensive aspect.
That's the best I can do without a specific style of Kung Fu to compare it to.

They range from groundfighting and wrestling styles to muay thai like systems, from stick fighting systems to archery styles, for military systems to family systems
Your question is far too broad. Its like saying what is the difference between wing chun and other martial arts.
