  • why cma?

why did you choose a cma over other forms of martial arts? what were you looking for?

  • #2
    why

I have choosen a CMA because I have trained in Muy Thai and Tae Kwon Do and in those 2 arts I put 15 years but I trained in CMA's of various styles for 5 years and have seen much better results. CMA's take a little time to learn and plong hours of practice but the dedication pays off and you can react to situations faster and with little thought but fast reflexes.

      I haven't stopped training other MA's but I enjoy learning about/training CMA (history,philosophy within each style,exercises & conditioning,etc.)....

For me it has everything to offer, and a very good understanding of these. It has punching, kicing, stance work, footwork, grappling, techinques for the floor, form (a sequence, used as a source of knowledge, of past Master's experiences), breath development (qi gong), etc...... and training of every part of the body, from your mind (Yi), core training (the trunk of you body, a lot of this is from qi gong exercises), the kinetics and tendons (jin) etc.... weapons training..... It didn't matter what build you are, there is something which will suit you.

Also a big decider was that Chinese martial arts, when spoken, sounded a lot like chin-sneeze martial arts. Yep, this was a big decider for me.
