dim mak isnt a style... its a part of most any martial art. it is nothing more than striking, pinching, pressing or stroking pressure points. Many people try to make it mystical and secretive. they are just after your money.

there are really only three types of fighting techniques. you either strike...why hit a guy somewhere that isnt going to do damage?...learn anatomy....buy grays anatomy then get a 3d acupunture model. now you have reference points for techniques. the second way to inflict damage is to sieze or lock. again, if you know how the body funtions you will be more succesful in your study. some grabs can be done to seperate muscle and tissue so a thorough knowledge of anatomy is going to help. and finally you can throw someone down. of these 3 ways the first 2 can make great use of points to harm or control the opponent, while throws can be set up better if you have a firm grasp of how the body is strung together. typically in order to do harm you must either punch, kick, grasp, embrace, push or pull.

the problem with pressure points is when people expand this into the no touch knock outs and delayed death. no touch is nonsense....delayed is possible but whats the point? Why would i waste my time in a life and death struggle (the only place for lethal techniques) by hitting you with strikes that dont affect you until later? doesnt this leave you plenty of time to kill me now? that doesnt sound like intelligent self defense to me. I know what youre gonna say...they used the delayed ones for assasinations...Realize some of the old delayed death touch techniques were nothing more than the time it took internal bleeding to kill you...one of the more famous is the 3 day... this is because it took 3 days for the brain cavity to fill with blood and kill you...in todays medical enviroment this is useless. how in the world the most physical thing you can do (Fight) got so magical and mystical is perhaps the biggest mystery in the martial arts. sure the mind plays and important role but if you expect chi to be much more than an indication of health youre in for a rude awakening in a fight.

I think many of the old Chinese masters are also masters of what is known as "S**t talking" here in the U.S.

THAT is the most profound statement ive ever heard on the martial arts...
the people with the drive and will to train rarely have the time to train...and those with the time rarely have the money...
then thanks to the movies everyone thinks you should be Mr miyagi or quy cain chang the funny thing is david carradine based his character on spock from star trek!
so yeah ...try to teach real chinese martial arts and all you find are the people who wanna live in a movie and expect you to be in it with them...

In Hung Gar to be considered a "Master" you must not only show great Kung Fu skills and abilitys but you must give to the community as well, Masters of Hung Gar are known for there Children Hospital's and Herbal Shops that cost nothing for the unfortunate people that dont have jobs or cant afford the cost of regular hospital's
