is it possable to travel to different places in the world and train int hier MA for a week or so? Like, go to france and practice Savate hardcore for a week, or go to Tailand and train MT hardcore for a week, or go to Chine and train san shou hardcore for a week or so?

this seems like it would be such a beautiful and fruitful expereince, what do you think?

I dont think you'd learn anything in a week. The instructors would get nothing out of it, but see an American that wants to add to their credentials. Often when I'm on vacation I've thought about going to a dojo and training for a week, but rarely do it unless I know someone there. There can be a lot of posturing, and its not uncommon to be tested by people of rank to see "what you know". It would be great if you could study for a year, then maybe most instructors would take you a little serious. But if you only have a week, only the money-hungry schools would except you. An exception to that would be if you were highly excelled at a particular art, and would be willing to hold a seminar or teach the philosophys behind your style to the class. Then it might be worth it. A week really isnt long enough, though the idea sounds pretty cool.

good call, i was thinking about doing it for an art i was decent at (when i become legit at some martial art, JJ prolly).

also, where the hell is there opportunity to train for a year?! That would be awsome, getting a little appartment and a cheesy job and otherwise diving into martial arts somewhere? (i assume that is what u meant). Is this type of thing possable? i imagine a year of expereince and training would do a whole lot of good if you put your all into it.
