WTF...wushu possible olympic event?!?!

I have read articles that wushu is trying to enter the olympics for 2008.I have no idea if they have let them in yet but it'll be the spark for TCMA misconceptions if it happens.
What do you guys think of wushu entering the olympics?

if wushu gets in the olympics, thats what every school will be teaching, finding any good arts will be nearly impossible, look at what happened to TKD, and JUDO...young people will get stuck in wushu schools full of trophies by well meaning parents who dont know the difference.

i think wushu in the olympics is just more oportinity for china to win metals. its so overwhelmingly popular there compared to teh rest of the world that no country could compete. not to mention wushu doesn't need to become any more flashy and demonstration-based than it seems to be now.

IHMO china is marketing wushu as "The ultimate sport" including gymnastics and fighting and a gold medal in it will show the world that china has the ultimate athletes in the world. Thanks to muddling into our history and the asthetic beauty of itself China is making an intelligent strike into the future of the world. Wushu will inevitably I believe kill us in our art through reputation, not even having to fight us they have defeated us or kill themselves if we can educate the world of our existance.

Actually it'll be interesting if we just decided to send in our fighters against them since sanda isnt actually a style in my opinion, just another one of china's abomination.Beating them up and telling the truth to the world will perhaps cripple wushu
