Although the name is fictional, the concept is sound. Has anyone made using everyday objects as a weapon part of their core training regemine?

Welcome aboard, Shibumi. yes we practice with expediant and improvised weapons. i also like the idea of using your briefcase, grocery bag, bitchy girlfriend (hell, she probably caused the situation) (Just kidding) etc as a shield while you defend yourself with your cane etc...if you have a Bullet proof vest with removable panels for instance, you can stick one in your backpack or briefcase! now you have a buckler if you need it.
Learning the knife goes along way to understanding improvised weapons since the motion base for the knife can fit so many different objects...

Flexible weapons are also a awesome asset.

Remember the old Sunday morning kung-fu flicks, where guys would use chairs, chop sticks, tables, their long pony tails and even hats to fight off the enemy .

Some women will take off their high heel shoe and use it as a weapon. Guys can take off their belt, provided they drink or eat enough to keep their pants up and whip it.

I'd guess that pencils, books and about anything could be used as a weapon in a moments notice if needed be.

When you go into auto-mode, tunnel vision, slow motion sense that happens will you just sling it at the other guy or instinctively go for different targets? I guess it depends on your training.

yeah i practise with many weapons including household objects, learn how to use a kabuton then using pens pencils markers small sticks becomes easy, aim them at vital spots, ie throat, temples, eyes, jam it in there ear if there grappling you i beleive theres an actual chinese style that dedicates the majority of its training methods to learning how to wield ordinary objects effectively, i have no knowledge of it personally though. anyone know what its called?

                whew!!

I am already liking this forum, thanks for all the helpful responses. In addition to my previous question, I would like to direct this question to all of the Harnagdo practionors out there: Is it as serious and leatal a system as it claims to be? I've read that there is no waterd down version to it, only the efficient system it was originally designed to be. Unfortunately where i live there is no school to observe
