  • Posture in training, fighting, daily life

posture is extreamly important in any martial art your doing, but traditional chinese martial arts emphazises on posture so much compared to some others, and ive been studying how peoples posture is for the past couple of weeks, like when im at the gym, or when im about my daily buisness outside, or when im around other martiala rtists, there posture is ok but i think generally many peoples posture needs improving, i was just wondering if any of you concerntrate alot on your posture and strenthening it and your core muscles? or if you dont practise with perfect posture or maintane the posture throughout your day?,

Are you implying that we should all have the posture like those uptight puritans or the queen?

I think good posture takes practice and conscious effort.

Oh yeah, you've got to be able to laugh at yourself now and then but that will do nothing for your posture...

...because lauging actually distorts your posture.

            Carry on.

I'll add its even more difficult to work on posture while stretching and doing yoga type excercises.

Balancing a book on your head trains good posture back in the 18th century. You also had to figure out the difference between hundreds of different silver cutlery sets!
