  • the day i fought w armed robbers again (oct 26, 2005)

today, i found myself fighting armed robbers again
    w my bare hands...this time 2 lang sila,one armed
w a long improvised kitchen knife. the othe,i
dodnt remember much since he was out of my
attacking angle and the guy w the knife is already
my 'locked' target. i was heading home after
walking a newly met female friend home, suddenly
in the sidewalk in front of tutuban cluster
building, 2 jologs popped out from nowhere, like a
scene from bioman or any of those silly japanese
action series. the guy in front weilded a shabby
but long knife and shouted 'luto ng ina mo
sasakin/papatayin kita' while he was saying it or
the moment after they jumped in front of me, my
    reflex/training got into action,suddenly i was
doing a blocking grab and got hold of his garment
and pulling him close to me which in turn tore his
sando apart, exposing his malnourished body in all
its glory and everything. then the 2nd move was a
whipping strike that never connected(bec my
grappling was neutralized when the sando was torn)
but the force was great enough to make a swoosh
sound after that, my brain got a hold of the
situation. then i ran as fast as i could to the
other direction while removing my glasses. i ran
the whole stretch of tutuban to the safety of my
tiny car. biy was it fun..and i was never as glad
to see my car as i did today. my stance was so
solid and sqaure and i felt that adrenalin rush
again and the feeling of your every senses opening
up to its maximum and also the weird ability of
    foresight...
    hirap maging gentleman! :-* :-* :-* :-*

the last time, think it was april 16,i fought of
3-4 armed robbers inside a jeepney. one had a gun.
i left w a broken nose. but thats another story.
another one was in congressional avenue, inside a
bus..guess kung saan ako galing hehehe :-*

all these happenings has irritated me. its good
that i was not w anybody or else i would be forced
to hold my ground, worse the person w me will only
be my liability, hampering my ability to fight back.

my conclusion, as with what i always teach. when
faced in such a situation, sometimes or most of
the time its better to square off w the bad guys
to buy yourself time and get an opportunity or
opening for better counter and or retreat. the
badguys are cowards and miserly, they get afraid
and or disorganized easily when things dont go as
planned. 'nasisiraan sila ng diskarte' in times
like these, presence of mind is a must. the
experience pissed me and my otherwise happy night.
but id go through it again so long as i can walk
her home again ;-) and for that special Lady whom
i see almost everyday of my week, id fight through
hell and back everyday to see Her smile and hear
    Her innocent giggle again :-*

pls warn all your loved ones. :-*

PS: madaming tao sa harap ng tutuban, being in a
crowded place isnt a guarantee! im starting to
hate the RP and its sorry peace and order
situation...this is yet another racial oriented crime

sorry for using the local language here. heres a quick glossary

jologs: bums, wasted individuals, people in poverty, just think of the local 'gangstah', or homie or whatever you call em in your place :-)

'luto ng ina mo sasaksakin/papatayin kita': f@ck u! ill kill/stab you!

2 lang sila: only 2 of them

    sando: cheap jersey

tutuban: our local downtown cesspool, this is my neighborhood,i cal this diseased and crime infested place home, but im planning to leave ASAP,its getting tiring after staying here for 30 yrs of my sorry life

'nasisiraan sila ng diskarte': plan not working...think- 'uh oh do we have a plan B,oh no,we dont have a plan B'

madaming tao sa harap ng tutuban- lots of people in front of tutuban...mostly vendors...

i may hunt these guys down in a day or two, with the local police or just by myself,it makes no differences, theyre life doesnt deserve another day, after what happened i guess thyll lay low...
