This question is difficult to answer because I really only know about one traditional school; the one I train at. To ask about traditional schools in general is a huge question because there are so many different traditions. If you really want to have a good understanding of what's out there I suggest you make a list of the different schools that are near you. You may want to narrow down the list based on what sort of techniques you want to study. Then come up with a list of questions for each instructor and make appointments to visit the schools. Most instructors will let you try a class, or at least watch one. You will find very different techniques/practices/etiguette at different schools and you should go and see them for yourself. That way you can make an informed decision about which school is right for you
