i just wanted to teach some new students to chinese martial arts something,
kung fu is a bastardisation, is it pronounced gong fu, and it is not a martial arts style, some westeners insult gong fu for its true nature and defenition, it can be translated a number of ways, hardwork/skill/dedication,etc
you might say " i learn eagles claw shaolin gong fu" meaning i learn shaolin eagles claw skill/dedication/hardword.
it is not correct for someone to say kung fu is a crap style, kung fu is not a style, it means as i mentioned above, skill and dedication is hardly crappy,
also i wanted some people to know, the forms, stances, set patterned style movements, are for training/conditioning/making you stronger/more flexible, and you dont have to stand in a horse stance or lohan pattern while fighting somebody. could if you want though i guess.
i dont expect many replies to this thread, but i just want begginers to understand a few things, also maybe some ignorant people might learn a thing or 2.
peace.
