  • Iron Fist or Iron Palm in UFC

Sorry, I posted this in the BJJ?MMA forum but felt it may do better here in the Chinese forumn.

Hey I was wondering has anybody ever successfully used Iron Fist or Iron Palm in UFC? Are gloves required? In the early ufc days, lots of people fought without gloves. Seems like iron palm or iron fist would be a nice technique to use. Any takers?

iron fist and iron palm, isnt exactly a "move" its a training method, there are many variations, its used to condition your hands, so you dont injure your hands when hitting or blocking an opponent, i do some variations, punch a wall with a newspaper nailed to it for 45 mins per day, start off lightly and work your way harder and harder, get some tiger balm and rub it into your hands before you do it and after, then leave it on for 30 mins after training then wash it off. also get a bucket of hard dry beans i use black eyed peas they last long, thrust your hands into this for about 30 mins per day, get down into horse stance and slap the ground 1000 times, stand infront of a big tree, and palm strike it for 30 mins per day, theres lots of other methods i also do iron sand palm, and gold palm, done steel jacket for a little while aswell,

i dont think anybody in the UFC does iron training, but it would help you alot if you did iron training, but if it was bare fist fighting i wouldent want to see the fight, somebody could be killed, iron training is serious and i dont think should be used in sport,

    peace.

How the hell does anyone (who is not a monk) have time to spend approx 2.5 hours a day just conditioning there hands??

Heheheheh you only do one conditioning skill at a time....once one level is completed it goes to a honing mode which is 5 minutes per day....then a new level is introduced....i maintain 5 different types of iron palm plus working my current level in only an hour per day, including meditations that must be done afterward. Most people only learn one style of iron palm so after initial conditioning which is 45 minutes a day for 4 months, it drops to 5 minutes per day...thats EASY to maintain

are you saying a bare fisted fight with a boxer Vs someone who has done iron methods for over 40 years isnt going to be deadly? thats not for entertainment, thats a death penalty. i wouldent liek to see it for sport.

              peace.

I would have to bet on the bet on the iron palm guy I would LOVE to see it in the ring. I think boxing ought to go back to bare knuckle anyway.

                      What a surprise

Especially if he's never actually used his deadly hands, right? That makes it more believable for the likes of you.

Its an enjoyable read, part of The Chronicles of Tao : The Secret Life of a Taoist Master, but don't take it as 100% historical fact as some would have you.

Its actually one part of the "Chronicles of the Tao" By Deng Ming Dao.

And yes its a great read its the story of a Taoist master named Kwan Saihung. it follows him from a life in the Temple to war and eventually the streets of America. Bear in mind two things when you read it, One: it was written by a student and number two: yes he really exist...lots of idiots assume because they cant find him on the net he isnt real ....the whole "why doesnt he show his skills and get rich" bit. yes there is some creative writing in involved, but what book hasnt got a little of that?
