Famous Karate Kid quote....
Daniel: Hey, what kind of belt do you have?
Miyagi: Canvas. JC Penney, 3.98; You like?
Daniel: [laughs] No, I meant...
Miyagi: In Okinawa, belt mean no need rope to hold up pants.
Miyagi: [laughs; then, seriously] Daniel-san,
Miyagi: [he taps his head] Karate here.
Miyagi: [he taps his heart] Karate here.
Miyagi: [points to his belt] Karate never here. Understand?

The guys in the dark suits were clearly performing the rather well known, but rarely openly named, art of "Kick-Bag Kung FU."
Characteristics of this style involve:
* Lots of fancy movements
* Few, if any, effective attacks and
* An ability to get kicked with ease.

Always fun to see these people who practise silly kung fu get their asses kicked. How the hell does acting drunk help your fighting

Wow, I've never seen the full video of those fights, only the first two.
I think these fights have been discussed numerous time before, owwww well. If I can remember I think someone mentioned that the Drunken Style in questions, wasn't from a Chinese Club, but actually from a Japanese Club who were training in their representation of a supposed Drunken Style. And as you can clearly see, have obviously, misinterpreted what the Drunken Style is.
So to answer your question, yes the skinny black clothed guys, with the bad posture are the 'Drunken' guys, and the others are the Karate' guys.
I'm glad to see that in the 3rd fight, one of them (in purple top) was smart enough to attack the closest thing to him (i.e. other guys legs), unfortunately he lacked the training behind him to carry it through (unless the rules dictate that your not allowed to do this).
{BTW, as we are talking about a Drunken Style, my user name is "Drunken Munky", however this came from the Clothes and skating trademark 'drunknmunky' not the CMA style}

My understanding is that it's mostly social camouflage. By acting drunk you get everyone to take you lightly, then all of a sudden what looks like a drunken stumble turns into a powerful attack. Obviously if your opponent already takes you seriously, or knows that you practice drunken fist it's going to nullify that advantage. However, if you're good at it you can catch someone completely unaware.
i didnt recognize a single legitimate Drunken technique in the debacle anyway....hell you could watch a couple Jacky Chan flicks and learn more drunken than those guys demonstrated.

Originally posted by Sagacious LuAgreed, drunken boxing has its merits, but you sure can't tell it from that clipI think the Kyo guys would have won faster if they'd respected the drunken guys less.
....sort of like when the Japanese halted the attacks on Pearl Harbor...they did so because things were going so well they figured it had to be a trap....but no, we just werent prepared...just like these clowns.
