  • THis is a video fight between Kyokushin KARATE VS Drunken Kung fu!!!

    Ahh guys i just want your reactions about the fight because i want to clear if the black guy really doing the drunken or wushu and the white is a Karate fighter.....

    The guys in the dark suits were clearly performing the rather well known, but rarely openly named, art of "Kick-Bag Kung FU."

    Characteristics of this style involve:

    * Lots of fancy movements
    * Few, if any, effective attacks and
    * An ability to get kicked with ease.

      Ya, the guys in black were the drunken disasters

      Always fun to see these people who practise silly kung fu get their asses kicked. How the hell does acting drunk help your fighting

        Wow, I've never seen the full video of those fights, only the first two.

        I think these fights have been discussed numerous time before, owwww well. If I can remember I think someone mentioned that the Drunken Style in questions, wasn't from a Chinese Club, but actually from a Japanese Club who were training in their representation of a supposed Drunken Style. And as you can clearly see, have obviously, misinterpreted what the Drunken Style is.

        So to answer your question, yes the skinny black clothed guys, with the bad posture are the 'Drunken' guys, and the others are the Karate' guys.

        I'm glad to see that in the 3rd fight, one of them (in purple top) was smart enough to attack the closest thing to him (i.e. other guys legs), unfortunately he lacked the training behind him to carry it through (unless the rules dictate that your not allowed to do this).

        {BTW, as we are talking about a Drunken Style, my user name is "Drunken Munky", however this came from the Clothes and skating trademark 'drunknmunky' not the CMA style}

          The Drunken fighters were obviously forms people that had only sparred or freestyled with people at their own level that do what they do. That didn't include being kicked in the head by a black belt in Karate therefore they were somewhat reactionless to this, and they also kept dropping their arms stupidly which didn't help their cause.

              We have a drunken form in our system, although it's very advanced material and I have a long way to go before I'll learn it. My understanding is that it's mostly social camouflage. By acting drunk you get everyone to take you lightly, then all of a sudden what looks like a drunken stumble turns into a powerful attack. Obviously if your opponent already takes you seriously, or knows that you practice drunken fist it's going to nullify that advantage. However, if you're good at it you can catch someone completely unaware.

                No doubt there are useful parts to drunken...but youre correct its all about social engineering...cause the opponent to underestimate you...in one explosive move....not stagger around being his punching bag....the attacks were also useless from the drunken idjits...

                i didnt recognize a single legitimate Drunken technique in the debacle anyway....hell you could watch a couple Jacky Chan flicks and learn more drunken than those guys demonstrated.

                  Agreed, drunken boxing has its merits, but you sure can't tell it from that clip I think the Kyo guys would have won faster if they'd respected the drunken guys less.

                    yeah, i think they thought it was so bad it HAD to be a trap ....sort of like when the Japanese halted the attacks on Pearl Harbor...they did so because things were going so well they figured it had to be a trap....but no, we just werent prepared...just like these clowns.

                      Excellent thread. Very silly Drunken Style fighting and yet alot can be learnt from such foolishness.

                          Yeah that's good point. Good deception at first, but pointless for the whole fight like some of these systems employ. Love both those movies though

                            Sheesh anyone knows that the REAL dangerous individual was the guy chilling with the sweet mullet! I bet he could have whipped that entire school of kyokushin!!

                            note: length of mullet determines power, this guy was a 1 hitter quitter!!

                              They only fought for six seconds.
