I voted for(option 3): You are a flucking idiot for comparing 2 people who have no interest/exprience what so ever in actual contact fighting. Its called google and you should probably type their names into the search bar.
Jet li is a Wushu practioner and he has never expressed any interest in actually fighting. In fact, he doesn't even believe in fighting. He does Wushu cause he admires tradition. There are like 100 over fansites on him. Reading one should quickly destroy any fantasies you had about jet li competeting in the ufc.
Jackie chan is a STUNT MAN. He never studied any martial art. Well not for real fighting anyways. His fights are Choreographed. What did i just say? I said he doesn't fight. He's great at stunts and all but he isn't a fighter.

The school was meant to prepare boys for a life in the Peking Opera. Chinese opera was very different from any other kind of opera. It included singing, tumbling, and acrobatics as well as martial arts skills and acting.
They are actors, they star in movies and neither of them actually fight. You can put them both in the ring, give them half-an-hour and i suppose they could choreograph something that satisfies your feitsh. -
I agree that the fights are mainly choreographed for movies but I do remember that Jackie has trained in fights as well as being in fights when he was younger. Jet li use to be in fighting competitions when he was younger.Originally posted by ShardComment

Uh... actually no. the only thing that jet lit has competed in are Wushu demos. I know Wushu has a contact part called San shou. But no. He never competed in those.Comment

It depends on how much Xing Yi did he actually studied. But to clarify things, Jackie Chan has fought for real before and had studied other martial arts like Wing Chun. Jackie Chan definitely had more experience.Comment

How about Jackie Chan's own autobiography? Honestly, based on what I read from you, you know next to nothing about Jet Li and Jackie Chan. Chan said he fought on the streets before and he also fought with Sammo Hung. Hung, Biao and Chan loved to pick up different styles of martial arts.Comment

Pretty sad isn't it? I have 11 posts and I know more than you do. I never said that Jackie Chan can fight professionally in a ring. But you don't need to go to the ring to prove that you can fight at all. And yes you do need to fight for real in order to learn. Forms without the knowledge of real life application and quick reaction are useless in a real fight. You can't look pretty and fight at the same time. Its just a fantasy. Untill such time that they do fight each other, there is no conclusive evidence of who is better.
It would help if they had a few documented fights/matches. That would give us a rough idea of the kind of strategies and techniques that they use. But still that is going to be pointless. Just a fantasy.Comment

Jackie Chan HAD been into fights with other martial artists and street fights. He his just not at a level where he can fight professionally in a ring.
