Got to be SherwinC. Just has to.

why no kung fu art can defeat mma?

simple answer, NO HITTING TO ANY VITAL PARTS (eyes, groin) AND PLENTY OF RULES AND FOULS.

If there is no rules and permitted to hit opponents eyes and groin, etc. then, exactly STRIKERS will win against GRAPPLERS

mostly, kungfu like wingchun are excellent in striking opponents eyes.

another, do you notice that all matches in the UFC/MMA, after their fights - both fighters in the end still have their complete eyes?

    Convinced?!?

many videoclip that i can see in the internet particularly in wingchun that they are expert in intercepting opponents hand attacks, then at the beginning of the match, chinese jujutsu has the advantage in striking vital parts such as eyes, the only lacking in chinese jujutsu is when the fight turns to groundfight, and thats the reason why a good combination of chinese jujutsu is to crosstrain with japanese jujutsu
Well I have some 18oz gloves, I've been training for 16 years including 10 years of MT. If I walk up to you and punch you in the face with my gloves on, and if anybody else on this board did the same thing, believe me when I tell you you will feel it. And then when you keep getting punched in the head repeatedly you will still feel it and it will get worse.

But then it is your instructor that says that punches with gloves on can be shrugged off. What do you think or do you not speak for yourself??

how about drugs? i heard wrestlers before are taking drugs before their match in the arena so that they can't feel the heavy punches(attacks) to make them tough like Hulk Hogan before?

Ok, listen carefully. YOU NEED TO STOP TALKING FOR THE NEXT TEN YEARS. After that, give it another try.

I dunno about you, but that's the first time I've EVER seen someone try to say that Kung Fu is better than MMA because MMA fighters take drugs to be like Hulk Hogan...

Hey - don't bag the kid, if I found a drug that would make me have a ripped body, killer handle bar mustache, and beable to recover from Ondre the Giant's bear hug in the most dramatic fasion I've ever witnessed, I'D TAKE IT. Tell me, who is these MMA fighter's dealer?

If you get hit in the right place (or wrong depending on your point of view) you will still get knocked out. Taking drugs doesn't stop the brain/skull collision from rendering you unconscious (or something to that effect, Thai Bri and others probably know more than I ).

Despite the athletes in pro wrestling being in tremendous shape, and performing awesome stunts.....its still fake! Come back to the real world mate!!

There is only ONE martial art that is superior to the rest. With very little training, and a few simple moves you can seriously injure or kill ten grandmasters in as little as a few seconds. That martial art is gun-fu, in either Smith & Wesson, Colt, Kimber, Berreta, or AK-47. Not to be disrespectful here, but just ask Alex Gong. He would tell you if he could that nothing can surpass the speed, power, and mortality of the firearm.

I have learned that though I bring my body to the brink of exhaustion, pushing ever more into perfection, and though I hone my skills so that my fists can break apart rocks, EVERYONE from the greatest to the least is equal at the end of the barrel of a gun. Check your local city or state for what is legal in your area.

When I lived in Arizona, I legally carried a gun -- Kimber 1911 Tactical, concealed. Martial arts is great for a workout, but for plain defense, the 1911 .45 caliber is absolutely superior. Most of the time all that is needed is to brandish the gun and the aggressor either surrenders or leaves. Try doing that by assuming a cat stance! Who would win in a fight, Bruce Lee or Jesse James? I'll bet you a million dollars that Jesse James would win the fight alot faster than Bruce Lee can yell like the Fist of the North Star. Would you trust your own skills to keep you alive against a thug high on PCP? Or would you trust that .45 1911?

Actually, this should be a thread discussing why NO MARTIAL ART can beat the firearm.

Would you consider Nuke Fu superior to Gun Fu?

Nukes? I wouldn't go around talking about that in this age of terrorism if I were you. Jorje Wahabbi Bush would have your head for it. But now you are delving into OFFENSE, not defense -- and that by taking out a large number of people who are not your enemy. Get real, you're a street civilian making decisions for self-defense, not a president or king making decisions for NATIONAL defense. This is on a completely different level. A better question would have been, "Does nuclear capability trump that of biological weaponry?" or, "Can the speed of my bullet defeat a seasoned sword-drawing manslayer?"

Of course, NO MARTIAL ART STYLE will save you from a nuclear blast should you be caught within its blast radius.

Maybe I should just have left it at Tank-Fu. A suplus, rebuilt tank would have been more realistic.
