Thanks for all the replies and the discussion.

It's not that I'm looking for a hard core, knockdown type of school. Forms are ok but it's frustrating that they always seem to take more space to practice than I have. My favorite training has always been different partner drills, footwork, hitting things, applications, different striking combinations, reaction drills and basically feeling like I'm learning usable skills. I think this class eventually gets to some of that but I'm not sure I want to hang out there for the next couple of years to find out when there are other classes that seem to offer better training.

in my experiance the instructors make the class do forms over long periods when they themselves have something better to do i.e. a show to put on or a competition.

It is not worth your hard earned $$$.
