Jiu-fu, what alot of these guys are trying to tell you is that sometimes you don't have to seek fights to be in one.

Selecting a martial art that teaches you how to be effective in a short amount of time is wise if you think you're someone prone to that kind of environment.

Well Jiu-Fu's way of expressing himself through martial arts is not my way. And I completely disagree with him on his approach that such styles like boxing and (modern) Muay Thai are ineffective arts due to the fact that they don't preach spirituality or mystisism within the art. If someones goal is to be an effective fighter and physicaly, mentaly and spiritualy well rounded also. Then there are better options out there than Kung-Fu. However you just might have to do hard work to find it for yourself. Instead of just taking a persons word on it. IE One high ranking Kung-Fu Teacher.

thanks for helping me out tom, but I can see that I should have thought more about this post before sending it out.

I am relatively new to the martial arts considering I am only 19 years old, i have also not been in this world for long..

I have not put down harder styles of martial arts, just admitted that they do not have much or little emphasis on becoming better spiritually , which I personally consider a big flaw
I know that a person who trains hard in these arts can become awesome fighters, hell i have seen many, but!!
the benefits of kung fu I feel are much better and that is why I made this post.

I could have stated it much better, but I guess I rushed my first post, and from then on I was just defending myself.

I am sorry if i defended anybody, but don't be so harsh after all I am learning, and everything you say I take in and add to my experience and knowledge.

but if nobody can see or admit that what I have said has any validity, than perhaps you are the close minded ones

            also, like I said,

I do have some experience with martial arts ,kung fu( one year). kickboxing (less than a year), wrestling ( about three months),brazilian jiu jitsu ( about three months)

I know, I am very new and for the rest of my life I will be learning.

Don't just go off of your feelings. Try looking at facts as well.

Again, not all gong-fu is ineffective. Alot of the time its the individual who makes the fighter, not just the art. Keep in mind that the WW2 combatives system was influenced by traditional Chinese and Japanese arts.

The current system used by the South Korean SF is also influenced by traditional Chinese and Korean arts. They're battle proven in close quarters, according to accounts from the U.S. military during Vietnam.
You always lend a balanced view to the argument Tom...and I like that. We do need a clearer interpretation of Jiu ju fighters Kung Fu however as it could be one of hundreds of styles.

May i just point out that Sad Balls would have been more appropriate than Ball Sack. Either way....you really know how to offend someone.

Can someone please advise how i would report this person to a moderator for this diabolical act of behaviour.

                          Regards,
