energy is energy whether it is electricity, heat, kinetic energy or chi. why do we need scientific proof we know we can control energy and we also know energy is all around us to never be created or destroyed.

so i dont see the relevance of asking ``why do we need a scientific proof''. if we assume
there was a scientific basis then we have to look at it scientifically. that means using
the specific definitions of energy. heat is not energy, its energy transfer with
increased entropy; heat in science is not how its used in everyday layman terms.
eletrical energy has a specific definition and equivalent mathematical
equation to it. this is the kind of rigour you need to look at the question scientifically.
whether this is the right way to go about it is not what im saying. im just looking
at the original premise of the thread; whether there was a scientific meaning of qi.
as to that, its like trying to map all the lineages back to the Shaolin temple, prob
not gonna happen, but ppl talke about it all the time. not something to lose sleep
over. its very hard to answer in
a scientific veiw point if theres no consensus on the definition to begin with.

The trouble is, there are some things that you just don't want explained
Like the Loch Ness Monster or Jack The Ripper - while we seek answers, we secretly don't really want them to be answered. We like the mystery.
When I watched David Blaine 'levitate' it blew me away. Yet I saw the Masked street magician on TV two months later and it showed how it was done. It made me cry...
I think those idiots who promote chi as a mystical thing to promote their kung fu business should be shut down. Chi is more of a concept than a definable thing. If you believe in it then great. If not, then good luck to you. I believe that there are things in this world that we aren't smart enough to explain just yet.
Peace out

It's all about making something so simple seem complex. Our ego seeks out flashiness and complexity. Something we spend so much time in i.e Martial Arts, will make us believe we are the best and we know something others do not (if not everything). We believe we know more and make it seem so complex in doing so. Really, the answer is all too simple, we're just looking in the wrong direction or we're just to smart to comprehend.

............Indeed...
It is often why I reserve the right to share what little I know...
