If you truely repect Master Chee and have the interests of his wishes at heart why are you openly criticising his family on this forum and not working with them to help acheive the goals you believe master Chee to have?

    you show little respect.

        • i remember this clip from the early eighties, it was old then and was part of a chinese government promotional video for wushu. They showed various styles but all kinda recreated in a wushu style, very flamboyant n stuff. It is indeed wuzuquan but from the fujian wushu institute. The form stands alone and there were no toher exercises or drills taught with it.

          great clip!

          • Wuzuquan Union 2006

The just concluded 2006 International SOuth Shaolin Wuzuquan Union in Quanzhou China was a very progressive.

Many notable things, one of it is that most participants wuzuquan skill has improve. Second, wuzuquan was officially introduce and accepted as part of the local elementary school physical fitness program. Third the wuzuquan finish a very nice theater hall to use in presenting for cultural events and finally the unity of all wuzuquan families were all well represented.

            Friends all.

Special annoucement; CCTV of China (the official public relation media of PROC) has organized the First Lei Tai Fighting to be held in Beijing on Janaury 18, 2007.

The lei tai is in relationship to reestablishing and promote traditional kung fu sparring. Fighters will be required to wear all the protective gear head, chest, mouth piece, groin and shin guard the same as in san shou the only difference is that it will be a no glove or open hand fighting.

CCTV has invited Kong Han and Kong Han have accepted to compete no other than headmaster Henry Lo will be representing the Philippines & Kong Han.

IMO, the Chinese government are starting to take positive steps to promote and preserve traditional kung fu.

This is a good sign, TKF is part of China's heritage and is rich in history, history that help shape China as a nation and as a civilisation.

                      • Hello

                        Thanks for the welcome.

I have never posted on a site like this until recently. I started to post on the MAP site. One thing about these posts is that they live in cyberspace forever - or so it seems. I really didn't look much at the dates they were posted and just responded to a bunch of them to see who was still around to discuss Wu Zu Quan. Apparently that was the wrong thing to do.

I have read some of your posts Konghan. You have obviously put many years of your life into the study of WZQ. I had 10 years experience in Judo,Tae Kwon Do, and Tang Soo Do when I started learning WZQ in March 1983. I still study and teach WZQ in Mobile, Alabama under Sifu John Graham.

Master J. Graham a very loyal and excellent ngo cho athlete, we always see each other in Quanzhou, unfortunately he has always been busy that I could not get a good time to chit chat with him.

Most of the members here are still around they'er just busy with some personal stuff. Like me, I move in to a new house that needed some TLC, I am really developing my handyman skill as the worse handyman of Vancouver

                          • Yes, Sifu Graham said he knew you and enjoyed the time you spent together. I have been to Quanzou only once in 1994 (first trip for us all) while Shizu Chee was still alive. I hope to go again this year Nov 9-12 and maybe to the Philipines before that to visit Konghan and Beng Kiam with Bonafacio Lim and Ben Asuncion.

I wish you all the luck in the world with your "money pit" as TLC houses are known. You can learn much while improving your surroundings.

                              Konghan,

Do you have a copy of the book from Quanzhou with the Mayors picture on the inside cover? I don't read Chinese and was hoping you could help me with some of the info in the book.

                              • Hey, I read very interesting things in this long, long thread..started reading 3 days ago. Im hoping to reactivate this thread...I recently started to learn Ngo Cho Kun at Kong Han Athletic Club under Master Henry Lo. I started to learn Sam chien..I really like the style and it compliments my Hung Kuen, which I also teach here in Bonondo, hope to bring this thread back to life.. I like that the forms in NCK seem to be quiet short in comparison to hung kuen..
                                bye for now
