A question to NCK peoples.... is the San Chien form of NCK similar to the one of Taizu?
I am asking because there is a Taizu school not too far away (well...) from where I live and it may be interesting to learn it before starting nck in the Philippines on my return...

yes :-) very much the same...in olden times NCK was always mistaken for taizu...taizu is a VERY old boxing method but its still applicable and practical,bare hand fighting was the same in the days of fred flintstone and will be the same by the time of the jetsons...

in nck,its also called taizu sanzhan shi zhi,aknowleding its roots...whitecrane also has it...

diff taizu from nck can be tricky if u havent got deeper into any of the said art but its distinguishable once u look carefully..ill enumerate it when i have time or if somebody asks...drop by our place when u get here

Any here knows Ngo Cho Kun? Let's discuss it..

I`m a veteran Ngo Cho Kun practioner for 29 yrs under the tutolage of the late Master Sifu Lo King Hiu of the Philippines. I have so far learned 15 kuntoh from Sam Chien to Si chat & sam chien sip di. Plus 6 hand to hand set sparring, 3 weapon set sparring, & 4 type of weapons thay are single broadsword, double hook, 5 foot pole, long spear ( cthm beh toh ). I have also participated in tournaments in Chuan Chiu, China during the 80`s.

At present I`m residing in Vancouver BC & I have been here for the last 10 yrs. I`m training & practicing on my own, trying to tone my skill & conditioned my body & mind. At age 46 I`m no longer as agile as I was 25 yrs ago but I still have the techniques & skill to perform Ngo Cho Kun. Plus I still remember all my forms.

I notice that Ngo Cho Kun is not very internationalised like other martial arts, so far it is confined in South East Asia & in some areas in Europe & America. Ngo Cho Kun enthusiast should try & organized themselves to internationalised more this sport. Here in Vancouver area I beleived there is no Ngo Cho Kun school or training centre.

Ngo cho Kun principle of fighting is to be abe to knock your opponent down with one or two blows. That is why the 5 powers concept ( Go Ki Lat ) of Ngo Cho Kun is very important, master that & one can become very powerful.

Me, I would say I haven`t yet master the 5 powers so far I only have maybe semi master them & the reason is time. I have to spilt my time with work, family, freinds, God & ngo cho kun. I`m hoping that this year i`ll be able to devout more time in training like maybe 3 hrs day for 3-4x a week & i`m hoping that my kids who are all teenagers with their freinds will be interested to learn Ngo Cho Kun, which I`ll be very happy to teach them for free.

Inspite of my years of exposure to Ngo Cho Kun I found that there are still so many things that I need to learn & master, but since there is limited resources about the true Ngo Cho Kun I don`t know what else to do except to do some internet researching & hopefully broaden my knowledge & if possible I would like to meet & train with other Ngo Cho Kun practitioner here.

This is what i mean about the true Original/Traditional form of KungFu that any Non-KungFu and Low level KungFu students learned there in any countries seems dont understand......

See? KungFu is the most powerful martial arts if compare to Muay Thai, Submission Wrestling, etc......

Even when you reach 3 lives you still cannot complete mastered the art of KungFu - and the reason why we laugh when we heard somebody here presented themselves that they mastered TaiChiChuan, at the same time they also mastered WingChun KungFu and they know most especially Chinese Medicine. If there are so many fake KungFu Schools here and also many fake Instructors here in our place - how about some places all over the world?

A true KungFu practitioner can defeat a non-KungFu fighter in almost 2 to three moves, for example: A Shaolin Tiger Style defeated a Muay Thai in just three moves - i read that article in one of my books before "The Arhats - Beggars KungFu Society"

Now if WingChun has its Iron Palm Training, this Ngo Cho Kun KungFu is also well known for its Iron Palm so very powerful ( a one strike to the chest DEATH )

My instructor is from KongHan too, but my instructor is not a solid NgoChoKun but a ChiDianBun KungFu Instructor.

He knows Twin Hooked Sword too, especially Tri-sectional Staff, HikTaiChiSword, TwinShortKnife, TwinSabers(Broadswords).

He also knows Southern Eagle Claw, 7-Star Praying Mantis KungFu and AngKa(Arhats / Lohan KungFu). He also knows Drunken KungFu and Monkey KungFu. Yes, he knows this KungFu but not totally.... because my Instructors Major KungFu Art is his Chi Dian Bun KungFu (Natural Art / Literature Fist) and Hik Style Tai Chi Chuan.

My instructor said that Ngo Cho Kun that he learn have merged with Chua Style Tai Chi Chuan.

His instructor in Ngo Cho Kun KungFu is Chua Yi Sin. KongHan KungFu School.

His instructor in Chi Dian Bun KungFu is Ang Li Sing (the father of Ang Lip Bin) in Philippine E-NEE KungFu School.

Sherwinc there's only one problem, kung fu is a term for any chinease martail art, and the one that kodankan mentioned a filipino martail art.

Ngo Cho Kun is so far still a very unique kung fu that is reserved for the most deligent kung fu affectionado. For those who wish to learn the short cut way or the easy way then Ngo Cho kun is not for them.

In fact, the image & reputation of kung fu during the 60`s is that of being weak & looks more like dancing & impractical. All that because of limited information available to the public but what is not known is that many good & real kung fu masters like Lo King Hiu, Tan Ka Hong & other Ngo Cho Kun masters in South East Asia are out there teaching the real kung fu to all those who are interested to learn & many of Ngo Cho Kun practitioner have excell well in both local & international tournaments.

My ambition is to develop my Ngo cho Kun to, if not master degree level at least to the point of chief instructor level. I want to help spread the technique of Ngo Cho Kun.

My skill level I would say would be in the instructor level with good expereince but still need more indept knowledge to properly develop my Go Ki Lat ( 5 powers)

I might be able to start Ngo Cho Kun here, I need Aboy`s blessing to teach. My knowledege & skill has improved & at present i`m doing more research on Ngo Cho Kun. Next month I`m going to start a trial teaching on a group of teenagers at an empty office space and we`ll see if it work out or not.

Yes, Ang Li Sing is in Philippine E-NEE before, and Ang Li Sing is the instructor of my instructor in Chi Dian Bun KungFu.

Chi Dian Bun KungFu and Ngo Cho Kun(GoCho) KungFu are very unique and not well know to the public as of now, their lineage travel in a straight line..... while WingChun, Choy Li Fut, Tai Chi Chuan, Five Animals KungFu, etc.. spread all over the world and well known/open to the public.

As for internationalisation of Ngo Cho, it is being practiced in England, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, maybe Germany and Norway, USA (a few schools as you know), Australia, New Zealand, Japan (Kenneth?) Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and China (of course). I think there is also a school in Brazil and one Karateka who combined Ngo Cho with his branch of Karate. We're out there....

As Pitbullz mentioned there is the annual meet at Quanzhou. I think it alternates between performance and a technical conference but I have never been myself. One of my classmates told me that Ngo Cho is very popular there and aparently even the mayor is a practitioner.

yes,nck is gaining popularity fast.i wish that nck wont be VERY popular bec quality may be sacrificed and nobody wants it to be commercialized like karate and tkd nowadays...

yes,the mayor practices it as well...he is giving MUCH attentiont o its promotion...
