  • i think you can serge...my point being wzq is a very scientific principle based art..yet on the question of power generation and deliverly we move away from the pure science...why?...i can twist my punch relaxe or tensed...

again this is just a subject for debate...not argument...

    regards

as to competition sanshou/sanda ( which i have been involved in) bear little resemblence to the arts we practice and work more along the lines of mainstream kickboxing type arts...

if we practice an art in a certain way (ie forms..one steps, drills, etc) tehn that is our art telling us how to fight?...so why would we change this when we fight in a competition format?

again just for debate guys no right or wrong answer...

do we test our skills enough?...realistically, and dont start on about kickboxing/ufc isnt realistic cos with out rules people get hurt , you get hurt you cant train , go to work etc, but surely we must have a way to test our skills under pressure without sustaining severe injury? do we test them?

I'm sure in the very close future there will be robots there to spar at. The problem is when they start to get out of hand....
I'm sure there will be fake robots like fake teachers out there as well!

        • yes, the more relaxed the hand and the heavier it will be, any tension including agnostic tension will support the arm and hand and reduce weight since it is being support....thus scientifically reducing the power?..also, why focus on deflecting a block, i woul drather focus on punching and hitting an opponent, if blocked i would then attack the arm?....its in the principles...disable,....thoughts?

Yeah but punching and then attacking arm is two techniques, and deflecting while punching is one.

            • how can you know where the block will come from in order to twist correctly to deflect? is the piont of twisting to deflect or generate power?..when punching surely your focus is on hitting your target, not worrying about deflecting a block? if the your arm is blocked surely the process follows that you redirect? as pere pushing hands exrcises ?

and yes it is two movements, but then we seldmom hit only once do we?
and in your principles is the intention to disable/destroy everything we touch?

                • this is a typical argument between 'theorists', have either of you ever actually hit someone? or at least hit a bag or pads? or is it all punching thin air as usual

ha ha! yes, goo dquestion. yes i have i sthe answer. I have worked security in the form of door work, retail security and debt collection. i regularly train and teach security personel including police tactical support units and have used my art extensively.

i regulary fight against ( training) boxers,thai/kickboxers, vale tudo fighters, wing chun fighters and brazillian jui jitsu fighters...

i understand the concept of what im saying and i have made it work for me, iam merely looking for conversation and debate and am open to everyones view.

and since this is a forum and not a training hall all we can do is discuss?!
and its not an argument but an exchange of views?

Well, as far as NCK goes, i have already posted all the best info i could find into this thread only to get pettyness and weirdos (see a few pages back), so I'm stepping out of further debate on this particular topic for the above reason.
