  • You will note by Your own admission one man from your list stood alone and it took him 20 years to do it.
It took him 20 years to become the most renowned 2nd generation ba gua master of all. Not 20 years to obtain defensive skill - as you said. Plus you said 25 years to use Tai chi as an effective self defense system. Not 25 years to Master Tai chi.

This is the statement I disagree with.

I teach open the Mind Door Palm which allows the average person to defend themselves in most situations after about 6 months but it doesn’t use high level dim mak (the whole point) of internal boxing.
Sorry but I would say that high level dim mak is not the whole point of internal boxing (maybe if you train under mr Montegue)- the point IMO (regarding combat) Is to begin to used more economic and powerful systems of force generation i.e - integrated force, alignment principles, tendon / sinew power (jin), heaven and earth power (gravity), listening skill etc etc. Also to train the use of fine and refined lines of force or intent.

The hitting of points and dim mak spring naturally from training - most people with some skill will naturally hit area's of vulnerability without thinking about it. One interesting exercise is to get a points book. get two beginners and get them to push points on the opponents body gently. then refer to the book and see if they are pushing a point. 9/10 times they will.

Just as a western boxer strikes points on the chin for knockout without thinking about it, and internal adept will hit points all over the body without thinking about it. It is a natural byproduct of the skill you learn.

No one can re-train thier reflexes and re-muscle thier body in 6 months or even 10 years for that matter.
The point is not to re-muscle the body in my experience. It is to train the body to use the more refined tendon / connective tissue structure to expel and receive force. This is achieved by opening the joints, form work, standing postures etc. Here is the real secret of power generation that sets the internal arts apart. This takes time but daily practice in the traditional methods with show huge power output improvements within month.

You don't do the internal martial arts, you become them. They become the way you do everything not just the arts.
Agreed - the internal arts become a part of your every day life - allowing you to be healthy constantly through posture and economic force use.

My Original teachers were my Grandfather, Father and uncles who were not stringing me along or jerking me around, and they defiantly were not about the money. They just wanted me around at Christmas when I retired from the military as they had. If your teacher is telling you different, beware.
Not quite sure what you mean here.

My teacher has lived his life as a seeker of the truth behind internal Arts. He found that truth in a very precious few. He was lucky enough to find them and gain insight into the hidden keys of the internal systems and has now began to pass these keys to me.

one of the problems internal arts face is the delusions and misunderstandings that have arisen in the west due to a lack of knowledge about eastern tradition and language. this is more apparent in the internal systems than most due to their innate complexity within their simplicity.

    Regards
    Chris

              lol...

Actually, its about 1.3 billion in mainland China alone.

Worldwide, including the Chinese in Australia, Europe, North & South America Middle East and Africa, I'd guess there are probably 2 billion people of Chinese ancestry.

I've been told that Chinese food in India is the best...lol.

You must be slipping if that's all you got. And thank you for the compliment. Anyone who calls me kid has either filed for social security already, or is still overcompensating.

I wasn't refering to how many chinese currently enhabit the earth. I was refering to the number of chinese who practiced tai chi (at some point in their life before they croaked) and helped spread it all over the world. This kind of mistake usually comes from trolling, I expected more out of you Tom Yum. If you're trollin, don't make a mistake like that, it opens you up for scrutiny, yourself. Thats why jubaji keeps his posts short, so he doesn't get exposed like you just did.

If you want the definition of trolling see any of jubaji's posts. Its what happens when a nine year old gets on the net for the first time. He becomes a net ninja.

Oh, a very poor attempt at back-tracking. Not working at all.
