Thats not realistic and thats why people think they dont work! The internal martials arts are about particular ways to move, and the strikes all are powered by this way of movement. If i dont use that way of moving (and targeting) Im not using the art as it was designed. If you dont use the power delivery system you arent using the art.

You cant just decide to use the art but not any of its principles and power, without the intent of the strikes its not a fighting system. Its like expecting the GJJ people to not use any locks or holds, when you expect the taiji people to fight like everyone else in the ring. Taiji targets specific targets with specific strikes...IF you know Taiji you know this... if you're not using the proper power and not hitting those points you arent doing Taiji.

*sigh* Let me try to help you recover from the image you seem intent on building.

If a Taijiquan adept were to fight a -whatever- fighter in a ring, or a circle, or a parallelogram and everybody were 'allowed' to do whatever they want, what would happen?

Don't complain the next time someone dismisses TMA. Just don't. You are asking for it.

                • I think part of the problem is that it's so hard to find someone who really has functionalized fajin punching. There are so few out there that there isn't much opportunity for someone who read's Boar's posts to go see for themselves what Taiji can or cannot do.

You have been gazing at your navel too long. You don't realize how you are presenting yourself and your art to the world when you say things like that.

When did I say that? You are the one making all the interesting claims here.
