do any of you know if there are any places that teach yaw yan in cali. are any of you taking it? how is it?

I Did Yaw Yan
I wrote a previous post about this topic earlier...but it's cool...I'll say it again.
Anyway, I had a small stint with Yaw Yan in Manila for a bit. The best way to describe it physically is Tae Kwon Do with Muay Thai roundhouse kicks, and some, if any, elbows and knees. The training is tough...even harmful to a certain extent. They are big on bouncy motions for developing flexibility, which we all know is detrimental to the health of the knee joints. It really just is Tae Kwon Do mixed with Muay Thai...and I should know, I studied Muay Thai in Bangkok off and on for 3 years.
I wouldn't know of any Yaw Yan schools in Cali...cuz I live in NJ. In my opinion, you're better off sticking to Muay Thai. But I encourage you to find a way to train in it yourself so you can decide whether it's right for you. Take care and happy training.
