        Pekiti + boxing ?

I watched the fight scene again on slow motion. It looks like he is doing Pekiti Tirsia kali + [western] boxing. But I am not sure.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't sayoc kali an offshoot of Pekiti Tirsia ?

From what I Heard (Rumors of course) the scenes were coreographed by an inosanto method person. If you rent the DVD the extra materials also talk about it for a while.

Thank you. That reminds me, I have never watched the extra materials, I need to do that.

Not Sayoc Kali, but Inosanto blend.

We met with Jonathan Eusebio who trains under Guro Inosanto right after he did three months of training to get actor Matt Damon prepared for the film. I believe Damon Caro may also have been involved in the film.

                  Thanks

Thanks, just wondering about that. Seems like Inosanto really knows a lot of different FMAs, to put it mildly.

                    Bourne

I read somewhere that Matt Damon did 1.5-2 hours per day of Lacoste-Inosanto blend escrima ('kali') in Los Angeles, at Dan Inosanto's school, for about 4 months.

i read once , that it was Ron Balicki who did the first and if i am not mistaken , Ron's people were involved as well...in essence ..it's still inosanto blend...
we need more of this stuff..even to some hard core FMA enthusiasts, hollywood is not a good idea, but i guess it's good for the entire FMA community.Just my two cents.

the person who i remember in the dvd special features who did the choreagraphy is Jeff Imada if my memory serves me right...

after a quick google search, it seems so...

Yes, I believe that it was Jeff Imada, too. He's a longtime student of Guro Dan's. In fact, he can be seen as the main assistant in Guro Dan's video series on the FMA (1986?).

Aside from his choreography & stuntwork, he's also authored a couple of books on the Balisong (still in print or at least there are still copies available). Among other TV shows and movies, both JI (in the airport scene) & GD appeared in the 80's flick "Big Trouble In Little China" which starred Kurt Russell & Kim Cattrall. I might be wrong, but I think that JI was also a props man on the set of the "Crow".
