    poly

I dont really use it for my kali training, but more for my jump kicks and jump spinning kicks!! for hapkido, kickboxing

Set up pads about 1 foot apart, then jump with your feet together.

or stack up some pads and jump over them.

      Hi Karl.

Plyometric exercises for faster movement or for faster striking? For faster striking with your stick there are tons of really good exercises. And for faster movement work out at the male/female triangle also the saw tooth. Plyometric training, i think, is more for athletics. Kali, Arnis or Eskrima is made for combat. In addition i more like the traditional exercises....

      All the best, Mike

It is a big mistake to think that Plyos are only for athletics or basketball etc...if u want to improve your power better say "explosive power" you have to generate the highest possible force in the shortest possible time and Plyo plays here a primary role...one very famous MA named Bruce Lee work on it also, so for combat can play a very important role , is up to you to believe it or not.....

I have no problem to believe that, because i often used plyometric exercises for my JKD training and also for Vale Tudo. But for myself, the traditional way of stickfighting is that easiest way to develope power, dynamic, speed and precision. Maybe if you're on the highest level of all of that, plyometric will push you little bit higher....

          Regards, Mike
