I should be back in the PI sometime this year. Want me to ask around and see if I can bring a copy back to the states? That is, if anybody's willing to part with it of course.

Haribon Dumog
HI,
I have studied haribon Dumog with Punong Guro Dan Rutano for several years.
The art is based on the striking angles of the Estokada system and incorporates throws, locks/submissions, and various offbalancing takedowns.
Guro Dan has published a book on the art that you can find at
The tactics and movements of dumog are all incorporated in or can be drawn from the weapons arts of the various subsystems of the Filipino martial arts. The book is concentrated on the standing aspect of the art. The ground stuff is equally well developed and is an eye opener for those that think Dumog is only an art that is about push and pull.
I hope you curious people purchase one of Guro Dan's books. He is truly an underrated treasure of knowledge in the martial arts and I have been searching around for something similar.
Regards,
Gordon

Dumog
Re: Dumog (and Buno),
The best sources I've found are:
1) Paul Vunak - Dumog (PFS video - as one poster noted)
2) Roberto Torres - Kalsaag Kuntao Silat Tape #3 (buno/grappling)
* Both tapes are pretty good - but not exceptional - in my opinion.
I've been more pleased with two books that I bought:
3) Dumog: Presas Style by Ernesto Presas (found mine on iisports.com)
4) Haribon Dumog: by Dan Rutano (from the author's website)
* As another person posted, there also is a book on Harimaw Buno by Gat Puno Abon "Garimot" Baet that I've heard about but not read. It can be found at www.garimot.com
* You also might search on the stickgrappler website/forum, there was an excellent, in depth thread there posted by a user named auggespicht or something very close to that. I learned a lot from the thread, especially how dumog could be used in clinch/tie-up situations.

Its unfortunate as Dumog is one of the areas in the Filipino arts that is not well documented. This is a shame as what I have witnessed and trained in it is very effective. Personally like I mentioned GM E Presas book is about the best reference I have come accross.

Dumog for nightclub security
I'm going to "perscribe" more dumog training for my co-workers doing nightlife security Others call us "bouncers".
I had the Dumog videotape by Paul VUnak years ago, and I really gained alot of results in the training approach for the skill, using the hubud energy drills serving as the base of dumog's effectiveness. I still practice it that way now, and it is still badass!
most state laws forbid any closed-hand punching to the head area. also, just as half or more states forbid hitting at all... just "control" them.
I think the nickname for my Dumog program is worth printing, "DAMAG Control"-hehe...
